Excellent summary: key take away: DOR is a soft checklist of ready that can change, DOD is the list of capabilities that establish the product increment is done. UA is the set of features that define the user requirement is met. ALL are MUTUALLY AGREED. Scrum Master’s job is to facilitate this.

DOR is not a checklist for entry or start criteria and these are guidelines only. This defines the condition for the PBI readiness. Mutually agreed and common to all PBIs No dependency or Risks not answered AC discussed and mutually agreed. Small size to be inspected and adapted DOD is 100% done based on the backlogs selected by the dev team and which is shippable one .This includes all the quality related activities , design and coding and necessary documentation as well. Mutually agreed and applies to the increment Acceptance criteria (AC) is the last stage where the product is satisfied certain criteria so that it is worthwhile to be handed over to the customer/users.

Key takeaways: DOR is about ensuring that any backlog item is considered or ready to be considered in the sprint planning meeting. This helps the development team to commit confidently and complete the backlog item by the end of a sprint. The Definition of Done (DoD) sets the quality criteria (process and quality) for the delivery of product increment. The DoD is used to assess when work is completed. Acceptance Criteria (AC) is a mutually agreed unique condition or solution statement that a user story must satisfy to be accepted by stakeholders.

DOR: Similar to entry criteria, condition for PBI readiness like AC are discussed/agreed, No unanswered questions, PBI is prioritised and ordered, assumptions are clarified. DoD: Process and quality related steps that evolves over time so that the product/pbi can be said in a shippable state. AC: Mutually agreed solution to implement that defines the functionality clearly.

Scrum team use definition of ready, definition of done and Acceptance criteria

3 Key Takeaways 1) DoR is mutually agreed guideline for a item to start working by the team. It is at the beginning of the sprint 2) DoD is a checklist of all the things that have to be completed by the team to show a 100% status. It is once development is finished 3) AC is a mutually acceptable solution statement for a problem being solved. It is for sharing to the customer and checking before that.

DoD /DoR/AC are 3 different things, and different instances of time by the development team we use this. The definition of Ready (DoR) is an entry for a product Backlog item into the sprint. The definition of Done(DoD) checks the doneness criteria for the team to claim that they are done. Acceptance criteria (AC) is the last stage where the product is satisfied certain criteria so that it is worthwhile to be handed over to the customer/users.

Takeways - DoR - Readiness criteria of the PBI before they get started in a sprint. Mutually agreed, no unanswered dependencies or risks. They are also ordered and prioritised to be ready to be put into a sprint. Avoid looking at it as a CHECKLIST DoD - included process and quality related steps that needs to be done on PBI so that the final product. They need to be mutually agreed. AC - Mutually agreed solution statement for a problem we are trying to solve.

3 key takeaways: 1. DOR is determines the readiness of the backlog items 2. DOD tells about the checklist that has to be checked before claiming a task as done or completed 3. AC is the guideline of the functionality of the product

My takeaways from this video - Common points for all the 3 concepts is that they aren't any strict rules/items of a checklist, but rather a set of guidelines which would vary based upon team and would evolve based on team's skills and experiences in the project. Definition of Ready - A set of guidelines that teams can adhere to, to see whether the item in consideration can be taken for a product backlog. Team can evaluate pros/cons of an item, which doesn't comply with DoR, can be taken up for Product Backlog. They can also discuss any steps to be taken to ensure that it does meet DoR. It describes the readiness of an item to be considered for a sprint. Definition of Done - This inherently describes the quality of product increment. This is also a set of guidelines which would grow as per the technical expertise of the team that creates it. It refers to the steps/processes that team must follow to ensure quality of product increment and by that extension, of the product. For a product that is jointly built by multiple teams, this may be a common guideline for all those teams, or else individual teams may also have their own specific items for DoD, based on the processes that they follow to retain product quality. Acceptance Criteria - Unlike DoD, DoR which are generic in nature and hence, may be common for majority of the items/tasks, acceptance criteria would be unique for each individual item. These criteria may be referring to the design solution proposed by Solution Architect. It may also have certain performance criteria that the item must satisfy.

3 key takeaway are 1.DOR is the entry points and that are mutually agreed within team members that we are going with these points. 2.DOD - It tell about that certain items are ready to delivered to the client as per expectation 3.Ac - It define that task/product which are ready to delivered meet all the criteria which are defined in acceptance criteria. It is basically mutually agreed solution that needs to implement.

1. DOR - mutually agreed conditions/guidelines of the PBI 2. DOD - mutually agreed if the product is 100% useable based on the work that has been done within that increment 3. Acceptance Criteria - mutually agreed-defined functionality of the PBI has been met

Key Takeaways are - 1. DoR - Provides the guidelines to get started, defines conditions for PBI readiness, not a checklist 2. DoD - Applied for all processes and quality related steps, defines the state when team claims the work is done, mutually agreed and applied to increments 3. Acceptance Criteria - Mutually agreed solutions to implement, functionalities can be derived from AC, guidelines for team and can be validated

Definition of ready - used as readiness criteria for the product backlogs item before they start sprints . It is an entry for any sprint Definition of Done- it is done by ten that they are 100% sure for the product is done . Check the done state Definition of acceptance criteria - it is a mutually agreed software statement for a problem that you are trying to solve . Product is satisfied

Key Takeaways: DoR - It is the mutually agreed readiness conditions for all Backlog Item which states that the item is ready to be worked upon. DoD - It is the mutually agreed list which the team perform to claim that the Product is 100% done and ready to be shipped. ACs - It is the list of mutually agreed solution statements that has to be implemented. The AC represnts what is expected in the solution.

Unnati Mistry CSM batch 29_30 April 2023 Keytakeaways 1.Defination of Ready-DOR is the prerequisite or the entry level criteria.Or is the readiness criteria for Product Backlog items before we use in Sprint. 2.Defination of Done-DOD is the checklist of all items which are mutually agreed and applies to Increment.Defines the state when team claims work is done. 3. Acceptance criteria-AC Mutually agreed solution to implement and applies to Increment.
