You mentioned snow. I just wanna point out that there's less snow in London now than there used to be back when I used to live there. I've been in contact with people from all over the world and apparently, Europe and the world as a whole has been particularly hot this winter. I was talking with a Finnish guy a few days and he said that this winter has been very hot for their standards so there's almost no snow. I've heard that in Ontario they also haven't been getting much snow. A few days, I also found out that Antarctica recently broke a record for the hottest temperature ever recorded there at around 20°C. I'm currently a high school student and I'm deeply in love with geography. For this reason I have been searching up temperatures all around the world for the past few months and while you might be complaining about not having as much snow as you did in New Jersey, New Jersey has barely been snow this winter as well. As far as I'm aware London hasn't gotten any snow/sleet this winter either. I am no scientist but my hypothesis is that the Australia wildfires have something to do with this. I just need to do a little more research. I still don't understand how people can deny climate change. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying my hometown :)

Tre Marley I agree with you. Been living in London for one year so far and honestly that is not accurate. On top of that, this guy is not exploring the full potential of London. Something I only learned quite recently is that London is a lot bigger than New York. I'm so used to everything in USA being huge I just automatically assumed it would be bigger than London. The thing about all the airports around London is great for Londoners, not so great for people elsewhere in UK. I used to live in northern Scotland and the direct flights from Scottish airports are very limited. I would typically have to travel 600 miles to one of those London airports to go anywhere.

The ‘con’ at 10:17 IS AGRIVATING ME BEYOND BELIEF I NEED TO AIR THIS OUT: London’s grocery options are ANYTHING but limited. Firstly, you have all the big supermarket chains (just to name a few): Waitrose, M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury’s etc. Each of these usually come in two types: a small one for convenience and a bigger one, usually for the weekly shop; for example Tesco express, which has all the basics and a few luxuries (a small shop) and Tesco Extra, which basically has everything under the sun in one store (pretty massive) this goes for pretty much all the big supermarket chains (M&S to go, normal M&S, little Waitrose, normal Waitrose) THEN ON TOP OF ALL OF THESE: there are corner shops dotted everywhere, which are convenient when you just need a snack or something out of the blue (also usually pretty cheap). Having been to America, I noticed that Americans don’t understand the concept of simply having a smaller, more convenient store. But instead, having these ridiculously massive stores all over the place. In London, we have small versions of each supermarket, and big versions. In America, nothing can ever just be small.
@dugsbunnyog35443 жыл бұрын

It might be a part of your "The City" bubble issue. Also about the AC issue, there really isn't much that can be done about it as the cooling system can't really disperse the heat effectively because that'll just heat up the stations and platform which will in turn just heat up the carriages again. It really is a bubble!! As someone who has lived in the South West of England my entire life I always find it so bizarre that London actually exists and people actually live there - it just seems so foreign to me. I study in Birmingham which is obviously a big city but even so it’s absolutely nothing like London!! Really grinds my gears when tourists visit the U.K. and think they’ve covered the entire nation when all they’ve seen is one very very unique city; as much as I adore London when i visit, there is SO much more to our country than what the tourists see
@Ricky911_4 жыл бұрын
I can agree. I'm from West London but my sister works in Exeter in Southwest England. When I went to visit her city, I was amazed. It was so different from London. Tbh, it was way more beautiful than Uxbridge (where I'm from in West London) and the people were definitely a bit more welcoming. Everything was cheaper and there was definitely more relaxation in the air. Another thing that I found awkward was the number of ethnic Brits. Usually, where I'm from around half of the people I knew where not ethnically British, including me (my parents are Italian) but when I went to Exeter I was shocked by how little immigrants there were. I know that expecting there not to be many English people in England might sound weird but trust me other Londoners will know what I mean. There were obviously a few tourists but you can tell they're tourists when they're in groups or have cameras with them or something like that

You are really spot on about the weather, after the end of summer time it turns very dark, grey and the sun is so low that any odd blue sky day it's unlikely you'll see the sun as it will be hidden behind a building. 7 dark months, you gotta keep yourself busy and see it through. Then you get rewarded with a lovely spring/summer which isn't too hot and really enjoyably with the endless parks, green areas, pub gardens etc etc, looking forward to the end of winter

The weather is actually a pro compared to the rest of the UK. The South East is the warmest part of the UK and it rains a lot less in the east than the west. I'm from the west and when I moved to Yorkshire it was noticeably drier.
