Dr Hugh Ross is such a blessing to us all. In these days, when the authority and truth claims of the Bible are under attack as never before, Dr Ross speaks so clearly and compellingly for the veracity of the Bible. I thank the Lord for Dr Ross. 😊

I appreciate Dr. Rosses contribution in deep diving into the depths of biblical and scientific understanding. Would like to point out that G.H. Pember, a contemporary of Darwin, first delved into this area in his book "Earth's Earliest Ages." Its nice to see a modern christian scientist comparing current scientific understanding with biblical truth. Pember pointed out that if there were any disagreement between biblical understanding and scientific knowledge, the problem wouldn't be with God's word, but rather with man's understanding of science or interpretation of the scriptures. In our approach to science and the Bible, it would be wise to heed the Lord's word to learn from him, for he is meek and lowly of heart.

Hugh Ross is such a blessing. Love hearing his findings from studying the Bible and creation. I pray that the church would not approach his ideas with hostility but with a critical mind seeking after the truth of Gods word

He teaches error. Big bang theory, no universal flood, unbiblical theories, etc. Sad! Also bacteria is under the earth & soft tissue could not be found in fossils. He wants science to confirm the Bible but vise verse, the Bible confirms Science! He is wrong
@addisonturner91527 ай бұрын
@@reasonforliving3174 this comment is dismissive. What you have to understand is you have a worldview formulated based on your interpretation of the Bible, not a worldview based on the Bible. Dr. Ross clearly lays out his hermeneutic approach for different passages from scripture and follows it with how his interpretation of scripture is frequently confirmed by scientific discoveries. As Christians we will have disagreements on application/interpretation of texts but what I believe scripture teaches is more important than being “right” is addressing fellow believers we disagree with in love. Let’s not let pride over secondary issues diminish the Grace we have received through Jesus and Gods Holy Spirit working in our lives.

Day is not the same as 24 hours, not in the past and not today. The earth is not 6,000 years old and the Bible does not teach this. Hebrews 4:9-10: "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." This tells us that the 7th day has not ended. Thus day 7 is a long time span, thus day 1 to 6 must be a long time span. Each believer are to enter into day 7. Also there no "evening and morning" for the 7th day. As day 7 as not ended. Biblical Hebrew has a limited vocabulary, with fewer words compared to other languages, such as English or Spanish. This means words often have multiple meanings determined by context. Day - yom is commonly rendered as day in English translations, but the word yom can be used in different ways to refer to different time spans thus literally is: Sunrise to sunset Sunset to next sunset Time period of unspecified length. (long time span ). We use the word day the same today: In my grandfather’s day cars did not go very fast. Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains". Gen. 2:4 “in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens” The events of day 6 can n ot have happened in 24 hours. Have you entered into the 7th as Hebrews 4:9-10 asks you to? Creationism does not equal young Earth. There are many Old Earth creationists.

Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) shipped from America is 6 times as expensive a Russian NG but we know who blew up Nordstream, putting Germany out of energy intensive business and tripled residential heating cost. Russia simply moved its NG supply to China causing a giant blow to America that has printed itself into high inflation. We may never recover from all this!

A science lesson at church! Under no circumstances do we ever change what the Bible says concerning creation! The Bible is The infallible word of God so the days of creation are correct in the Bible! God created matter and he can change it stop it anyway he wants! Our God is as big as the universe and his spirit can fit into our little hearts! Sometimes we don’t see just how big and enormous God is! He is our creator and his word does not return void ever!!

Does the sun revolve around the Earth as was wrongly taught by the Church until the 19th century? - N0. The Bible did not change. Why then did the Church stop teaching that error? Because our knowledge increased / changed. When we were infants we drank milk. By now, we should be eating solid food. Just as we know that the Earth, along with all the other planets in our solar system, revolve around the sun. We now know that the Earth is ~4.4662 billion years old. We also know that the universe is ~13.79 billion years old. Do we need to wait another 19 centuries to correct what is being wrongly taught about these ages by many in the Church today? ‐ NO. The Bible did not change. Why then would the Church stop teaching this error? Because our knowledge has again increased / changed. The Bible is, and will always be, the inerrant word of God. The age of the Earth is NOT a salvation issue.

I’m not sure if you watched the entire video but Dr. Ross lays out how “yom” has 4 different meanings. Both young earth creationists and old earth creationists uphold the Bible being the infallible word of God. The conversation boils down to interpretation of the Hebrew text into English and what the practical implications of that are. I think comments like this can be dangerous in the church because it seems to be implying that Dr. Ross does not hold scripture in as high regard as you. We need to approach disagreements with care and try to understand both sides arguments, not being dismissive. Often with these secondary matters of the faith it seems to be less important which side you’re on and much more important in how we have discussions regarding disagreements within the body of Christ. What I love about Dr. Ross is his dedication is not to defending his origin of life position but to evangelism and carrying out the great commission. We should all be of like mind and whatever our belief on creation we should study to back up our beliefs and walk in unity with one another with the same goal of reaching as many people as we can for Christ.

Biblical Hebrew a small vocabulary than English. In biblical Hebrew, there is no word for universe. Instead, the Hebrew phrase that is translated “the heavens and the earth” is used to refer to the universe-the entirety of physical reality. The phrase is used thirteen times in the Old Testament, always referring to all matter, energy, space, and time the universe. We now know that event was 13.787 ±0.020 billion years. This has been checked, proven and measured with many tools and they all agree. It is not just space that came to be 13.787 billion years ago, but time also. The universe is finite and expanding. Just as the Bible stated thousands of years ago. To deny the existence of a Creator is an error. Romans 1:20" For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

If there is no God, what caused the Big Bang to happen? If “nothing” is your answer, then that would be a supernatural event, or a miracle. But if you don’t believe in the supernatural at all, then you’d need to find a method for “something” to come from “nothing”, and good luck with that.

1) Science - a) Any universe that has mass and is expanding on average, had a beginning. b) 100% of all observable evidence indicates the universe had a beginning. 2) Bible - In the beginning Elohim Created the Heavens and the Earth (all physical reality). The universe had a beginning. You will not find the word "universe" in the Old Testament. The Hebrew language did not have a word for that. Instead, a merism or a hendiadys is used. The “Universe” is expressed by 2 words ‐ “Heaven and Earth” That is the Big Bang. It was not Big nor was it a Bang. It's just a name. God Created from a flash of light all matter, space, time, and energy.

1 Thess. 5:21 Prov. 18:13 Rom. 1:20 Ps.19:1 Ps. 97:6 Unless you're willing to sacrifice biblical inerrancy and God's nature as a truthful and just judge, you'll need to reassess your interpretation of the usage of yom as extended but finite periods of time and ereb and boqer as indicating each unique period of creation had a distinct beginning and end. Anything else is just a power play used to exclude people who know what they're talking about and happen to disagree with your error.
