Thanks for sharing this. You confirmed my own ideas on best itineraries. We are planning to go for 9 nights, so I booked Paros for 4 nights, Santorini for 3 and 2 in Athens in the back end. I know it might be a little short, but this was the ideal amount of time to be away for us. First time in Greece, so it is nice to watch your videos and get excited :) Honestly, my husband and I are most perplexed with having to throw dirty toilet paper in the bins. LOL

Sounds perfect! Are you staying in Naoussa in Paros? I absolutely loved 🥰 it! 2 will be fine for Athens, longer is great, but you will still see and do a lot with 2. If I had to stay 2 anywhere that’s what I would do. I’m so excited for you! You will have a wonderful time! It’s just so relaxing there and beautiful! The toilet paper thing was really weird at first! My friends said the same thing you did. But, I promise it’s not as bad as you think!! Have fun!! Thanks for watching and commenting! 💕🙏🇬🇷✈️

Oh thank you! The Peloponnese is where my mothers side is from. So I’m very excited to explore it. I’m taking my 24 year old with me in 2023. He’s never been. One of the reasons I’m retuning to Santorini is because he really wants to see it, and it really feels surreal, it’s magical. Friends keep saying why don’t you go somewhere other than Greece next time? I say, because Greece is incredible and there’s so much more to see! Thank you for the kind words and well wishes! May or September. It’s still season, but “shoulder season.” Less expensive. I’ve been told May is better than September. But, water is warmer in September. But, also they have these winds that show up in September. They call them Meltemi winds. So sometime ferries get canceled and the wind can be crazy. But, even this year we went in June, July and we had some windy days. Anyway, you can’t really go wrong. It’s amazing all of the time!

Curious, why do you recommend Athens on the back end of the journey/ trip?
@KathrynJBrooks2 ай бұрын
Because you’re going to have to come back to Athens to fly back to that US . So after doing it both ways, I wound up realizing that I preferred Athens on the back end because most of the time people have to go to Athens then they get to go where they’re gonna stay in the city of Athens then they have to go back to the airport again or to the ferry to go to the islands and then they wind up having to come back to Athens again and most of the time they’re gonna have to spend at least a night in Athens when they come back so that they can make their international flight the next day, so it’s a lot of wasted time with the back-and-forth so I have done this a few times now. we arrived into Athens early to mid morning, went through customs got back into the airport flew Aegean into one of the islands. It was. the best vacations I’ve had there. At the last part of the trip We flew back from the island to Athens and stay in Athens a few nights. Then got a ride the morning of our departure from Plaka where we weee staying instantly of wasting money and a night at the airport hotel. Does that make sense?

There’s so many options. Do you want to do the islands or the mainland? I think for first time the best is a few days in Athens at the end of the trip. I think everyone should experience Santorini at least once. The views are amazing, jaw dropping, magnificent. Then a few nights on another island. I wouldn’t recommend Mykonos. Honestly I loved Paros and Milos. I’m going in September this year. We are going to spend 5 nights in Naxos, 3in Koufanisa. I’m taking my youngest son and he’s never been. This was actually the most helpful video I have seen on traveling Greece. I am also from the U.S. and planning on traveling there this Summer with my girlfriend in May. Originally we had a different plan to travel it by going on a complicated route but this video heavily changed my mind and I am very thankful for that. We are definitely going to Santorini. How did you like Paros, I am really interested. Thank you!
@Fsmithrp Жыл бұрын
Also, another question. How do you recommend travel on the islands? Thank you!
@KathrynJBrooks Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. I loved Paros. We stayed in Naoussa. The hotel arranged a driver for us from airport and port, as well as when we wanted to go to a further beach or restaurant. The restaurants would also call us a driver. We only rented a car in Milos and took it back the next day. We planned to keep it longer, but we liked the driver idea so much. There were 4 of us so it wasn't that expensive. So, either rent a car or use drivers. Naoussa has so many shops and restaurants and beaches, we mostly stayed right there. I definitely plan to go back again. I am so glad my video was so helpful!!! Feel free to ask anymore questions, Kathy
@Fsmithrp Жыл бұрын
@@KathrynJBrooks Thank you so much for the reply! I can't wait to go! Did you find taxis/drivers to be relatively expensive compared to elsewhere? I have heard a lot of people recommend renting. On that note, did you notice how much renting is on the island for an ATV for example? Also, when you rented the vehicle did you have to have an international driving permit or were you able to use your US ID?
@KathrynJBrooks Жыл бұрын
@@Fsmithrp I did get the international license. I just did it online. It was quick and easy. I heard someone at the rental place in Milos ask if they needed it for ATV and they were told no, only for cars. The drivers were different prices everywhere. I’ve heard the taxis try to inflate prices for tourists, that’s why we stuck with drivers they the hotels and restaurants arranged.

Then if you want some night life go to Mykonos via ferry from Santorini. Also from there do a day trip to Delos. Then maybe Paros for more nightlife and beaches. Stay in Naoussa. Or Milos, or Naxos. Naxos has the Portara; Temple of Apollo. Then I would finish up the trip in Athens, stay in Plaka, visit the Acropolis and other historic sites. Also the National Archeology museum. You can also do a day trip to Delphi or Meteora. 🇬🇷🏺

Hello, 🌹🌺🐦🐦May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

Top 6 reasons why this is not a good tourist video. 1. You really need to show a map of where you're at to the Acropolis cuz if you're going to be touring you need to know where all these locations are in relationship to that. 2. You need to cover more things like transportation from the airport money that's accepted exchange like how can you exchange your money do they accept tips when they use a taxi or you're at a restaurant these are important customs and can speed you through to get to your hotel. 3. Taurus seasons in off-seasons in holidays that are specific to the Greek culture would be nice to know as well so like when I went to Italy I knew that August was the month for Europeans to be off but I don't know if it's the same in Greece so again knowing when people are actually going to be there and not there is really helpful. 4. Some basic Greek language hello goodbye thank you so you can kind of get the gist of you know what's acceptable or not to you know I'm an American so I speak English I don't have any second language so how much do I have to know. 5. It'll be nice to actually get traditional Greek meals you know a lot of people like to do the standard I'm going to eat at expensive restaurants and show you what I ate no I actually want to eat what normal Greek people eat you know what what times do they eat breakfast lunch and dinner what is traditional foods that they're accustomed to so like when I went to Italy their custom to not drinking coffee like an American they drink espresso standing up by a bar so again these eating customs and actually having somebody there from Grease telling you about that would be helpful to. 6. You know personally I don't think this is a good video my last is I don't even think you went there and it just looks like a bunch of videos you stuck together to try to monetize and get some free money actually go to Greece😮😢

Ok your ideas are good. And yes, I actually went there. I went there in 2019, 2022, 2023, and July of this year 2024.
