The cake you ate at Tokyo Station is cherry blossoms (さくら/桜) flavor. I could see the word さくら on the package. This time of the year, you can find many cherry blossoms flavor. For Japanese, さくらflavor means salted cherry leaves. You can find sakuramochi that is wrapped in the salted cherry leaf (桜の葉の塩漬け). Cherry blossoms themselves have no taste, but when the flowers and leaves are pickled in salt, they have a unique smell and taste.

I'm pretty sure it can be pretty stressful and feels chaotic when navigating Tokyo subway/train system till you really get used to it. My friend came visit me from the US for the first time and one day he ventured out on his own without much knowledge and he got completely overwhelmed! It's pretty well thought system, but a lot of signage can still be confusing (even to me as a Japanese who's born and raised in Tokyo). Zane's doing pretty good job at figuring out his way for his 2nd trip to Japan! Also don't worry too much about filming on Shinkansen! As long as you're not overly loud or talking for the entire trip, you should be fine...

This is my first time visiting Japan. The signage for which route to follow is pretty easy for a newcomer like me. I have not gotten lost yet. When I took the Shinkansen this week from Tokyo to Kyoto, I made a mistake in going to the incorrect station. Luckily the station agent told me that I still can ride in Shinagawa Station but the time is 640a instead of of 633a in Tokyo Station. Just then I realize that the station is printed on the ticket. I will be going from Kyoto to Osaka on regular JR instead of JR Shinkansen.

Shinkansen is supposed to be very sophisticated and modern. The only chaotic scene was all the people scrambling to find their train. Enjoy Hiroshima and go find an Onsen to relax in. The trains in Japan seem to be way more confusing and harder to use than in Korea. I've dealt with both alot since I used to live in Korea. Also, Klook is amazing! I can work usually in Japanese and Korean Hangul but Klook makes it so much easier.

The mobile Suica isn't available for non-Japanese Android devices for some reason, which is a shame. So a physical card is the order of the day. 10:38 You needed to tap your phone (suica) because you arrived to tokyo station and you never left tokyo station. Entering the Shinkensen platform is the same as leaving tokyo station; thus you needed to tap out using your phone (suica). When you arrived at your final destination, you only need to insert your ticket to get out of the shinkensen.
