Keynote Address by Pratap Bhanu Mehta | Navigating our Times
Pratap Bhanu Mehta is one of India’s leading academics, and the Laurence S Rockefeller Visiting Professor at Princeton University. Dr Mehta delivered the keynote address to open this edition of our culture festival Should Art 2022. Here is a thought-provoking lecture on India’s social and cultural upheaval, and the unique abilities and opportunities that India has in moving forward into the future. He was joined by Kalpana Sharma in conversation.

In the midst of the everyday chaos that ensues our lives, Should Art has become that cultural compass to realign ourselves, where imagination leads experimentation and fluid thought flourishes. Building towards becoming South Asia’s flagship art and culture festival, we present work that is multidisciplinary, experimental, and independent. This is an immersion in a three week-long celebration, through performances, immersive exhibitions, workshops, terrace bazaars, podcasts, and food.

Notwithstanding the scholastic erudition of Dr Mehta, his idea of Hindutva is partially true. In its pristine manifestation, Hindutva is the socio-cultural cum political shield that protects Sanatan Dharma and Indic civilization. The attempt to surreptitiously critique it is not right, because it serves as a bulwark against Middle Eastern and Christian coloniality that is trying to find ways to undermine the Hindu civilizational base of Bharat. INDIA was and will continue to be a civilizational state with Hindu DNA as its underlying core.

Well said ! This line of thought runs down every sign of exceptionalism. That's as rightly called out by you,is clearly intended to establish itself as the most exceptional of all discourse structures! Is this a sample of WOKe line of argument? Rather patronising! In essence it says "if you are not like me,you are a threat". This is a neo colonial epistemology. It cannot tolerate the plurality that Sanatan dharma has respected and fostered over centuries.

Try reducing the ad volume, there is an ad every 5 miniutes. Atleast until the channel gets some reach. People should get habituated to the quality content first. Only then, you'll be able to monetize their attention. Even after uploading 118 videos, being at only 1.1k subscribers and getting 55K views should make the point.
