Nice job, Chris. Thimble Shoal Channel Depths info at lower left on chart restricts vessels and tows drawing less than 25' from using Thimble Shoal Channel but this does not apply to passenger vessels. This test states you are on a 22' draft cargo vessel so you should use the N. Auxiliary Channel to answer Q#10.

this is such a helpful video. I took my 3/M exams one year ago & I would recommend your channel to anyone studying for exams. Thank you for putting out these valuable resources 📚⚓️

What chart did you get and was it harder or easier then the old charts?
@michaeldonovan75222 ай бұрын
@@guristoski2625 I think it was Block Island or Chesapeake I don’t even remember. I did so many practice exams it all blurred together. I don’t know what you mean by the old charts. The exam was very difficult yes.

@@guristoski2625 I took it this year for 1600 ton mate it was basically exactly like he’s describing in this video.

@ thanks did you learn all your plotting from just his videos? It seems like none of the old plots are being given out just the new harder ones. Thanks for the reply

I'm an academy drop out working in the Industry. A friend of mine a few years ago (2016 or 2017) did a practice chart plot the night before his exam and that was the exact chart for the test. Lucked out lol

Hey, love your videos & explanations for all the license prep materials you do. I’m currently struggling through license examinations right now (sitting at 6/7 right now- all I’m missing is chart plot) and I have a question. How will I know I’m “ready” to take the USCG chart plot? Right now I miss 0-2 questions on practice tests but I haven’t failed a practice plot in a bit.

Thank you! I think you are right on with drilling until you routinely get a 90%. The more questions you see, the easier it will be!

@@NavigationTraining generally speaking though, moving slowly through the given problems & taking the information given in the LL & CP as well as the chart very literally will yield good results?

I just passed chart plot back in late August of 2023, I had a Chesapeake bay. It wasn’t too bad, just use .5mm mechanical pencil so that your plotting itself is as accurate as can be. Read every question twice before attempting to answer. Good luck!!

hi there chris. in watching this video i noticed that one of the problems uses the auxiliary channel to get the right answer whereas the other doesn't. is that something we should be concerned about in future plots? thanks

Can you give an update on the 100 to master and pup updates for the past 7 years. I'm sure your videos are a lil outdated.

@@kennys3985 The 100 and OUPV have not changed recently, only the third mate chart plot exams. Should be same as most training materials on the web. Good luck!
