Just been binge-watching your channel. Great content. I saw you reran your mainsheet. I'd suggest that there is an issue running the line through the boom bails. With the mainsheet passing through the bails they could very easily jamb and prevent the mainsheet from reeving out smoothly. This would happen at the most inopportune time., usually in a squall. In order to have it reeve smoothly through the blocks run it from the gooseneck back to the forward fiddleblock then down to the triple block then up to the aft block, through that back to the triple block then up to the center boom block. Finally run the line back down to the triple block and tie the bitter end off to the fiddle on the forward fiddleblock with a bowline. This would eliminate running the sheet through the boom bails. Again great job!

Hey Rich, thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought about the risk of running it through the bails. You're right it could go straight to the blocks instead. The issue we have is that no matter how I run it (I've tried the way you describe too), the sheet eventually twists causing loads of friction... not sure how to resolve it. I just periodically undo it and let the kinks out. Thanks for the message!

@@NavikaSailing I had a similar problem with my Pearson 424. A couple suggestions.1. Most blocks can be locked from swiveling. Usually it's a grub screw on the block face. try locking the blocks so they won't swivel. that cured my issue. Also, google mainsheet for Tayana 37. Your main isn't all that much bigger than mine. You may find you can get away with two blocks on the boom and a block with a becket on the traveler. In the end it may take some experimenting. Fair winds!

Navika Sailing, voices like your’s command attention. In Human Design you would likely be a Manifestor.

Yes we do! You won't believe it but we have a RODE microphone but it's faulty and doesn't work! Sooo frustrating, we're trying to get it fixed at the moment as I agree it's painful to listen to! Thanks for watching anyway

You never show what you are eating in different stops and countries.

Hey Ron, as we're both vegetarian we don't often have many options when we eat out so we often choose to make food on board instead. Also with Covid not as many restaurants have been open so we've not had the opportunity to go out as much but hopefully we can do more in the future!

I wish I could sing and not injure people’s ears. Well at least I can fix anything on a boat, not a talent just something that is needed. But then again it can get me a free beer from time to time ... hahahaha.
