My nephew just got accepted into the naval academy. He goes Rhode Island in July OCS. He already has his pilots license which is like a grain of salt to the navy academy. Then off to Pensacola FL. His father was a pilot in The US Army Apaches. So so proud of him!! And let me also say thanks to The Late Major General Anthony Potts for giving my nephew off the chart recommendation!!

@@SpooderOfficial crazy that someone has responded to this so long after. I didn't, in high school I got into drugs and the result of that was underperforming during high school. Since then, I've actually given my life to Jesus and I'm in the process of becoming a minister, possibly a Pastor. How things change! Thank you for responding and asking, really brings me back. Thank you so much for making this video! Annapolis has always been my dream to achieve gaining acceptance too ever since I was in the second grade. I have always had a burning love to serve my country as a Navy Officer for my life career. I recently got accepted to the Advanced Space Academy in Huntsville, Alabama for aerospace, space technology, STEM courses that I'm looking forward to. I've always thought about going SWO because of how I love Aircraft Carriers and the excitement and amazement for nuke, and having the chance to being apart of aviation operations. Recently, I've been really interested in aerospace, naval aviation etc, so if I think the flight simulations, and training at the space academy is something I really enjoy doing, my final decision will giving my life to the Navy as a potential Navy Fighter Pilot or other type of Naval Aviator. This video really opened many doors of information for me, (coming from a family who has never had a profession in any aviation field) I didn't know where to look to start my path, but USNA and the mids always have my back! Thanks. :)

To quote Richard Gere in "An Officer and a Gentleman"... "I want to fly jets!!" I understand there's a height limit for fighters and I wondered what is the max height for those cramped cockpits? (Something that you really can't do anything about once you apply) Yes I want to fly jets, but I'm way too old for the military now. To this day I kick myself for deciding NOT to apply for the USNA even though my ASVAB scores were high enough to apply. To this day I remember my thinking when I was presented with that option by the recruiter: "Four more years of school??? Nahh!" Not my brightest day. :-(

I have a question, my right kidney is normal while my left kidney is small, because of that my left kidney works at a low percentage. I really want to be a naval fighter pilot and go through the USNA but I am wondering if I can pass the fighter pilot medical examination.

Unfortunately, I didn't get into the USNA, so I chose a local university with a exceptional Aviation program which will allow me to fly and obtain my pilots license through college! My goal has always been to become a Naval Aviator and I'm hell bent on making it happen. Do you have any info on OCS? How it works, or how to make myself stand out as a good pick for pilot?? Any info could help. Also, and tips on studying for the ASTB?? Thank you! I want to fly F/A-18/ E/A-18's!!! I love them, they're the definition of lust!! (Cheesy I know) but they have always been my favorite aircraft and ever since I could remember, I wanted to fly them and one day I will! I can't even begin to tell you how much I want this!! I want it more than anything!!!!!!!

Christian Hey, just curious.. have you considered applying for the ROTC scholarship? I can’t help you with OCS related questions since I didn’t go that route but I recently commissioned through ROTC and got picked up for pilot. Definitely a good option!

What are the fighter plane options in navy? I know f18. What other options ?

F/A-18C/D is retiring, but used to be an option. Now, the options are F/A-18E (single seater Super Hornet), F/A-18F (dual-seater Super Hornet), EA-18G (electronic warfare dual-seat Super Hornet, 20mm gun removed), F-35C (CATOBAR F-35 variant with larger, folder wings, no internal gun). USMC is F-35B (hovering, STOVL F-35, no internal gun), F/A-18C (single seat Legacy Hornet), F/A-18D (dual seat Legacy), AV-8B Harrier II, and that's about it.

Captain Pilcher, you’re putting out incorrect info. You said that there are more pilots in the Navy than the Air Force and that is incorrect. There are about 12,260 pilots in the Air Force and 6,500 in the Navy. Your numbers about the Air Force Academy are also wrong. The Air Force Academy typically gets 350-400 pilot slots. Take an average graduating class of 1000, and that's 35-40%. So, it appears that the Air Force Academy is making more pilots.

Emerson Arias It depends on the needs of the navy. If you have a good ASTB score, are physically qualified, and have a decent gpa, your odds are pretty high. This past selection everyone in my unit who wanted pilot got it besides 2 guys that got NFO.

I am not sure but I’m pretty sure the cut off is 5’4 and 6’5. Just from what I’ve seen and heard but not 100% on it.

Lol nice try but the air force produces 500 pilots a year through USAFA and around 400-500 a year through ROTC. But good advertising strategy I'll give you that.

He said the Navy Accepts MORE pilots not PRODUCES. Theres a big diffrence. The Air Force is way more competitive and hard produce the best of the best. But the Navy accepts more people than the air force does
