And in the females, Madhubala and Priyanka Chopra were and are both called stars in their own right. But that again too many years of work and presence in the film industry to become stars.

Listen to him very carefully about nepotism and commercial movies. He said if you want to become a hero or a commercial actor, you become butt hurt by this nepotism thing. But those who have talent, they are not running behind commercial movies and fame. This is my thought also. A actor who came to become a star will always have to suffer nepotism but those who come to act only they find their own way. Like nawaz, irfan, radhika, pankaj tripathi and many more. They enjoy their journey of struggle and speak about their struggle without any regret or hatred.

@@daivasjallencherry4335 It's getting too much ... Nepotism is not easy for actors like Siddiqui because his children might aspire to become filmmakers some day but we can't demonize everyone in the name of nepotism. Nepotism will still extend to the first degree of people we know of because we are hardwired to look into safety. What I got annoyed with Ms Chopra is she is supportive of a dumb ass like Salman Khan and it's brainless stunts .. that did piss Siddiqui off. It's ok to say that Salman khan and his movies are BS, no matter, how bankable he is, in terms of success. The good news is, these people are slowly dying. Our mass crowd always get fascinated by these extra-human prowess because they want to be lifted out of their poverty and related issues miraculously. That gets harnessed in Salman khan movies. I would empathize with them but not Salman khan that refused to grow up at 50+

Nawaz has always been clear about the kind of roles he wants to play on screen. He is not after commercial success, he is in the filmmaking world purely because of his love for acting. He wants to explore avenues that nobody else wants to, so there is more scope for him. Just the way he talks about his acting performances shows how deeply connected he is to his craft. His commitment to acting is beautiful and I cannot wait to see what he does next - especially after coming out of lockdown. I sense he wants to immerse himself into a character in a way that he hasn't done so before. I was shocked and surprised at their concept , acting , background music, cinematography and honest story telling !! Then , I Watched some more Malayalam movies subsequently, Bangalore Days, Kumbalangi Nights , Njan Prakasham. Since then , I am wondering why Bollywood can’t make such movies !! I think such scripts and stories demand huge talent from the STAR KIDS (star kids in acting , direction , production, music etc). And those STAR KIDS simply don’t have that talent. And that’s why they make one “Gully Boy” movie in Hindi and praise themselves for their “creativity” and “off beat cinema”!!! Malayalam movies are at least 10-15 years ahead of Bollywood and of Nepotism and Karan Johar do not enter their industry, they will stay blessed. !!

I think it is based on survival instinct. Malayalam industry does not have that monetary power that Bollywood has. Therefore they make high concept to survive whereas Bollywood focuses on grandeur which don't usually have original thinking and ideas.
@drfarhanshaikh94094 жыл бұрын
Akash Reddy If we go with that logic then Hollywood should be even more grand and mindless. Bollywood is basically hijacked by money minded investors whose only aim is to make movies to earn money. Just like Indian politicians , they know very well that educated middle class will only talk but won’t bring them “votes” (read money). Their target is the crowd which wants item numbers and never bothers about content. Malyaalam industry will spiral down once they get infested with such opportunists who don’t care a damn for artistry, poetry, acting, music and , good stories (stories need not be “realistic” but should be rooted and grounded in tangible conflict).
@akashreddy32634 жыл бұрын
@@drfarhanshaikh9409 well, I understand your statement but it is hard for the malayalam industry to do that because the percentage of population who speak malayalam is very less when compared to hindi and telugu. So with less population, investors wont invest much. Your an exception who watches these movies with subs. Not many people do that. As for Hollywood, they make a lot of shitty movies. Most of the disney movies are shit. Michael bay makes shitty movies. Adam sandler movies are really bad. All industries are hijacked by money. No one wants to make a flop movie. Watch tumbbad. "Mainstream films (formula films) where talent is not required which any one can do. Need everything but acting talent " . Very dareing statement to maje make

But fair. As Nawaz said correctly, Practice yes, Project Management yes. Skill yes. Talent? No.

I agree with you people who want to become stars they have to fight nepotism can’t help it but if you have to come here to become an actor you have to work on your craft.

Just to add a point on the 'star system', this era is well and truly over - and I think it needs to be. The adulation and hysteria surrounding certain actors/actresses will die out because we've learnt to consume content in a more accessible way, so the allure that the star system has cannot sustain itself. I think that formulaic style of filmmaking will turn into a fantasy genre, but by large - hopefully - we will get to watch more interesting genres where the film is driven by the story and not the "hero". Hero bechara Zero ho gaya!

Anupama, drop it. The mainstream bollywood is garbage. Persona, my foot. After 4 hours of gym and 1 hour of saloon, even Hardy Sandhu gets a persona. Will he be cast too in the films as the lead?

It felt like hearing a Ted talk on nuances of acting .. all I can say is that nawaz is sorted and clear in pursuing what he want. And I really liked is the fact that negativity boost his motivation and maybe that is why he is positive.
