She is beautiful Renee! I too have an Ellie Sue but as a boy. I think it depends on who paints the kit that determines whether they look better as one gender or another. Mine has painted hair. Yours is heavy too just like mine is. I love the body that must have come with this kit. Like yours, mine positions so naturally when you put him down. I can imagine how pleased you are with her. Congratulations! I have to admit that this kit was not a favourite of mine but I got mine from a friend and just fell for it as soon as I saw it.

Hi Jen! Yes it’s really something special in person. There is magic in Bonnie Brown’s babies. Many have a very distinct face, and their movement is so great. I love Ellie Sue as a boy, too. I had a bald one, painting was ok, and she was still one of the most lifelike dolls I’d had. Always lovely to hear from you! 😘

I am absolutely speechless at how realistic she looks! even her limbs and hair! Is she angry or just confused trying to figure things out? I have seen just that expression before on real very alive infants! Her COA does not do her justice. Her eyes are open just the right amount to look real. I would love to find this baby in a silicone version. Am I mistaken but it seems like a reborn such as this one with the scope of her painting and depth of the sculpted features would be extremely difficult to simulate in silicone. I just love her!

There isn’t really a choice unless you have a full body silicone, or a few that have a full vinyl body, but then the baby becomes stiff and doesn’t move well. Hope that helps!

This kit is so weird. Sometimes she’s just plain awful. And artists have complained so much about her vinyl. But this version is cute. Her limbs are very realistic.
