The "tent" was great, especially the bathroom, when a hotel to demonstrate it is a luxury level, the bath position, the space allocation say it all. For wild animals, lovely to see toucan! Such as colourful but cute bird!

180 minutes of van travel is not really a great start to luxury. Nayara ought to consider having a helicopter pad or landing strip perhaps located 15 minutes away from the resort by wheels like other luxury resorts in remote areas have done. The staff and guests will really thank them for the option of faster evacuation.

Ok, so just had to come back and comment on this amazing resort. We returned last week from our trip to Costa Rica. I had initially booked an 8 night stay at the Four Seasons for our first journey to CR. However, after seeing that a lot of the excursions that we wanted to do were three hours away by car, we decided to actually stay in that area...La Fortuna/Arenal area. This is important to know if you think you want to stay at the beach and then do some excursions in the rain forest by Arenal Volcano. It's 2.5-3.0 hours....one way. And while the first 1.5 hours is mostly flat on local roads and then a highway, the last 1-1.5 hours is all twists/turns going up in elevation to get near Arenal. It's a bit of a ride for sure, and would definitely recommend staying in that area as opposed to spending 6 hours a day in a van for every day you plan to go to that area for an excursion. I saw this video review and booked three nights here. It was AMAZING!. The Four Seasons was also wonderful.....I'll comment on that video as well. But this resort is special. The Tented Camp part of the resort now has its own common area with an amazing check-in area, patio, infinity pool, fire pit area, restaurant, bar and swim up bar too. It's *incredible*! You walk into the reception area and the volcano is right there...so close that you feel like you can touch it. The new restaurant, Ayla, was our favorite...excellent. The thermal spas all over the resort are amazing. Our Tent...incredible, like you are in Africa with your own patio and plunge pool. The staff here is also special....there's nothing they can't handle. We booked two excursions through the resort and they were wonderful. We did the Hanging Bridges with Juan Pablo and he was amazing....showed us so much wildlife (including a three toes sloth!). After our private tour they resort packed us a picnic lunch for us which we enjoyed at the park with Juan Pablo and our driver....nice touch! We also did the River Safari Penas Blanca with a third party (booked by Nayara)....and they were also top notch....highly recommend. We saw so much more wildlife than we ever expected. The only issue we had.....we needed another 2-3 days at least. You really could spend 2 whole days just enjoying the Tent, common area and two sister resorts/restaurants. Definitely plan at least one full day for that. Beyond that, I'd want a good 3-4 days for excursions. We preferred touring in the morning and then spending our afternoons at the thermals and the pools. Poolside drinks are also delicious. Oh, and so was the breakfast which we enjoyed on our patio each morning (included). I just wanted to come back and thank the Luxury Travel Expert. He's spot on with his review of this resort....it's next level.
