I have made 2 pitches at my home. Steps:- Cement wicket- 1- Dig 10-12 inches, layer with a bed of broken bricks, pour cement on top. 2- Pour cement water at the end and smoothen out the surface, 3- Buy polypropylene mat for pitch. Don't pay anything more than 40,000. Turf wicket 1- Dig 2ft deep and roll it until hard (1 ton hand roller costs not more than 20 thousand) 2- Fill a thin layer of stone chips, cover with a layer of the soil that was dug up and roll it until hard. 3- Put one layer of bricks and pour a thin layer of sand on top. Sand should cover the bricks completely, 4- Mix the soil that you dug up with clay and morrum in equal parts. Put a 8-10 inch layer of that and flood the pitch. After it dries, roll it flat, 5- On this, put a layer of freshly cut wet grass and cover with a layer of the soil that you dug up mixed with clay and manure in a ratio of 2:1:1. 6- Heavy roll the pitch until hard and then water it. Let grass grow as long as possible before mowing it to get a green top swingy pitch. Whole process should not take more than 2 weeks. maintenance of turf pitch- grow grass occasionally, roll for 10-12 minutes daily in this period, and cut grass after pitch becomes hard and grassy.
