He was apprehensive of going and knew the distress would rise at a certain point at the party when the reason of his khalish becomes the subject matter but agreed to go anyway and asked khalish to remind him to leave at the time when would be no longer would be able to bear. I don't know why people mention Major Aziz Bhatti. This ghazal was first aired in 1973-74. Nayyara Noor was hot those days with film hits like Tera saya, bol ri gurya bol etc. The poet Behzad Lakhnavi died a year or so after this ghazal was recorded by PTV. PTV was still black & white (PTV went color in 1976).
