Olá, Peniche is more of a working town… there is definitely some tourism, but not like Nazaré or Lagos. Simply different vibes. I lived a few minutes from Peniche for 3 months and loved the area.

Portuguese pronounce the j like a j not like an h in Spanish. So "Qeijo" is pronounced... Kay-joo

Once you know the vowel sounds, the language is pretty much pronounced as written. By the way, we don't use the letters K, Y, or W except for symbolic representation like Kg(kilograms) we would spell it quilogramas...
