Wow! I've been a Naz fan for a long time, so this is really disappointing. The new lead vocalist sucks! It looks and sounds like he's singing in a karaoke bar. In fact, I've heard better in a karaoke bar.

linton has now left the band which i think was a wise decision because he clearly was not the right choice for nazareth.nazareth to me were the manny charlton years he was the driving force to this band and since his departure things went down hill.Billy rankin credit to him tried and was good but did not stay long enough to prevent the car crash thats been going on for the last twenty years or so,no disrespect to dan or pete to both i have the greatest respect but some of your latest choice of band members were not very good ones.pete it is time to call it a day.

Think of other bands that put in the wrong singer! They regret it later, Example: Queen now regrets putting paul rogers on lead, This right here is like putting micheal Bolton for the new singer of AC/DC, The thing is Nazareth is not as big as queen, So if fans don't approve they wont buy ticketts for shows thus band looses money and damage there careers, Linton Osborne is ok on his solo stuff. But is a very bad business mistake for Nazareth.

I saw them live Saturday... and Linton did a great job. Well yeah he's not Dan but all together they are still a GREAT band. I am a musician myself and I REALLY enjoyed their performance. Everything sounded just perfect in my opinion.

Oh yes, if you're wondering the bass player (an old guy, off screen) is an original member of Nazareth, the drummer is his son , he stepped on after the old drummer died. And the singer retired a couple of years ago for health reasons. The original guitarist left years ago, funnily enough he also p!ayed Russia with the same singer.Tribute act?

Still a great band apart from the singer and guitarist - neither are up to it, despite the guitarist having been with the band for nearly a quarter of a century! The singer could be local pub band standard with more practise but will never (in my opinion) ever have the vocals or stage prescence to front a 'name' band. For most of us it needs Manny Charlton and Dan McCafferty along with the wonderful Pete Agnew. Lee is fine too. I'm sure Zal Cleminson could slot in nicely too.

He's a good vocalist, but it's not Nazareth! I'm sorry to say it because it diminishes the rest of the band but, while THEY are still Nazareth and sound fantastic as always, without Dan, it's just not the same. I guess it's just memories of past shows now and leave the new Nazareth to entertain a new generation. I wish them all the best in the future and a healthy and happy retirement for Dan. His timeless music will be around forever.

I've been a Nazareth fan for nearly 40 years and to my shame this is the first time I have had to turn off the music! no way is Lintons voice powerful enough to do the Nazareth repertoire justice, it's not a personal dig at Linton, just not the right singer and it's probably a good move that he has now moved on.On the Naz website many suggestions on what is going to happen next in my heart of hearts it's time to call it a day as Nazareth, no one can replace Dan, come back under a different name as a 4 piece and have no expectations and see where it takes them

Маккаферти - это легендарный персонаж: харизматичный, талантливый, даже в очень преклонном возрасте умел подать мощную энергетику со сцены, и банда с ним выглядела куда более живее и круче, чем с любым другим исполнителем. Планку группы он поднял очень высоко. Потому-то Осборн молодец, не побоялся взять на себя такой груз ответственности. Ну, просто не взял высоту... что поделать? Зачем пацана в грязь втаптывать? Я бы и так не смог, да и вообще бы все слова нафиг забыл, если бы на сцену вышел =), только частушки могу по пьяни, а он вот красавелло... хотябы потому, что его взяли... Ну а новый вокалист, как по мне - это уже что-то ближе к стилю Helloween времен Майкла Киске или Iron Maiden (любит поголосить)... немного Брайана Джонсона примешано... Если Осборн пытался подражать первому исполнителю по манере исполнения (как оказалось, безуспешно), этот поет на свой лад... хотя, держится куда более увереннее... А глотком свежего воздуха Осборн скорее в несколько ином смысле, чем как это здесь восприняли: кто не знаком с творчеством Nazareth, тому может очень даже приглянуться (я, например, вообще не замечал Nazareth до этого, теперь слушаю, особенно старые записи с Дэном). Вот бывает такое: вроде нифига особого нет, а что-то все равно есть, и это "что-то" цепляет... Первая композиция в этом клипе меня как раз и зацепила. Мне теперь даже кажется, что это единственно верный вариант исполнения этой песни. Но, думаю, это не должно быть поводом для споров - кому-то нравится черное, кому-то белое, кому-то красное... А для тех, кто годами слушал Nazareth, следил за творчеством группы и с нетерпением ждал каждого альбома - вероятно, такой "свежий глоток" - как серпом по яй*ам ))). Смена фронт мена в таких легендарных коллективах обычно всегда вызывает бурную полемику среди фанов, взять тот же Helloween, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest...Новый фронтмен = новая подача = в некотором смысле, новая группа. А вообще, как по мне, исполнять могут многие, а вот создавать такие шедевры - отнюдь.. =) В общем, как-то так...

с момента, как оставил первый комментарий, много слушал классический состав Nazareth, смотрел их концерты разных периодов, изучал биографию, интервью... сегодня промотал это видео повторно и понял, что от группы осталось только имя, к сожалению.... У меня возник вопрос: "кто эти парни на сцене?" играют на уровне дворовой кавер-группы, лажают, не выдерживают ритм.... нет той динамики, что была раньше... похоже, что люди вышли на сцену, чтобы "отбрынчать" свои концертные часы с мыслью "скорей бы выходные"... похоже, без Дэна нет группы... а те парни, что пришли позже него - лучше бы они этого не делали... музыка-дело вкуса, а о вкусах не спорят, конечно... но, на мой сегодняшний взгляд, нет Дэна - нет Nazareth... но, думаю, если бы я не видел, как эти песни исполнялись раньше, то концерт показался бы вполне сносным, как это было 4 месяца назад =)

@High Noon Ребята, нечего судить. Линтон сам признался, что облажался, да и Джимми в Телеграмме не ту ноту взял. А я и так не сыграю, а на Линтона так, потому, что непривычно. Старался он это да и нечего судить, брать грех на душу. А вы слушали его альбом Пьяный за завтраком? У него там гитарист круче Мэнни между прочим. И съемки лучше этих не видел.

However I think it’s easier just to change the name at least as a bit of a farewell to the original vocalist who was the greatest artist of the genre besides Freddie Mercury of course and perhaps even Steven Tyler of Aerosmith infamy, which is the only proper thing to do. Perhaps S’naz like one of their earlier albums was titled.? Look at how pathetic Lynyrd Skynyrd became when Van Zant’s younger brother tried to ressurect this group. No Ronnie = No Skynyrd when your own band members start dying off! Granted they have the original guitarist in Ricky Medlocke from Blackfoot who was in the band for their debut recording at Muscle Shoals and they then took Ed King’s style outta California ( Strawberry Alarm Clock) and then they replaced him with Steve Gaines who unfortunately died in the same plane crash of October 1977. This is a perfect example for how putting a different lineup whom had nothing to do with the original music is a sacrilegious thing to do with all of those bands we will remember forever. Case in point being Nazareth. No one can replace Dan Mc Cafferty. His voice is simply unique. The new singer looks pretty insecure in his stage movement, not really professional as it seems, and his voive is much too high in comparison to Dan´s. Maybe Dan´s quitting the band is Nazareth´s death, in the long run...

I've been trolling around youtube watching vids of Nazareth performing Beggar's Day. Dan by and large sounds horrible singing it, although he sounded better in '94 than '85. I'd still rather listen to the crappiest Cafferty performance than this. Apparently they didn't even rehearse what key they were going to perform it in. yeesh.

Linton is not a bad singer. The problem is that Dan had very high voice and Linton is not gettin there. It sounds like that Linton does not sing naturally. He's trying to sound like Dan but no....this is not working. It's gonna sound better when they start making new music to Linton's voice but this old Nazareth "thing", well, it aint working anymore! Linton should be singing more traditional rock but in Nazareth we need voice like Dan had or like Axl Rose. There are still that kind of singers... You know, high, tight, raspy falsetto "thing" and not singers like Sammy Hagar! Van Halen is Van Halen and Nazareth is Nazareth and this band isnt Nazareth. Simple as that.

To everybody complaining Dan MacCafferty was replaced, I saw Nazareth in concert in 2009 and Dan seemed really really tired, he didn't sound like he used to, needed many breaks between songs and I really hoped he would retire for his own health. This guy is no Dan but he's doing his job quite well imo. Seen them in concert last night and I thought he did a pretty good job considering whose shoes he had to fill.

I agree with you can’t go back again because we’re all going to die soon enough, but what to do about it is change the name of your outfit. Dan is dead as of my writing ✍️ but he was the only reason why they continued getting on with it from the mid sixties up until present day. Nazareth had a way of making the Blues their own style and McCaffert had been a huge part of their success with his voice alone. The footsteps of Dan MacCafferty are to big for Linton Osborne. Dan was the soul of Nazareth. I don't think that there will be a substitute for the extraordinary Dan anytime.Thanks for uploading. I attented so many Naz-Shows in the past, but I will never ever visit a Nazareth gig.

I saw Nazareth 9 times with Dan McCafferty, Loved every show! I got a free pass to the see this new singer a few weeks back, And I think the new singer is ok and can in fact sing! "BUT" his voice doesn't fit Nazareth's style & sound at all, Sorry and I'm not no basher.. Honestly....But It just doesn't work with a band that's been around for 40 years and has many albums behind them to put in a singer that does not resemble at all the voice on the albums. I know you boys need to make a living playing live, But get a singer that has at least a bit of the flavor of Dan Mccaferty's vocal style & tone, Sound alikes singers are lame sometimes, But better that for your careers than this way, Im rooting for you naz guys at that....

Nazareth opens for Deep Purple Aug. 5th in Columbus. I guess they'll have a new "new" singer but either way I'll give the boys a chance! Sometimes you don't get the full effect on KZbin. I've seen Naz with Dan so it'll be a hard act to follow.

First band i ever saw live at Portsmouth Guildhall, Manny Chalton inspired me to keep learning guitar, who is this guy as we say about some players hes got all the gear and no idea, if you saw them in a pub you would probably finish your pint before leaving to see who was in the next pub
