Thank you for the great video. I read through the comments and discovered that my EV800DM goggles don't have diversity. Enabling diversity to my setup has significantly improved my range.

I'm late, sorry. I will copy and past a reply to a similar question: Hi, you have to check this things: 1) set band and channel manually on your goggles, don't use "autosearch" 2) Set diversity on your goggles 3) Check the vtx leds on quad: they must flash the right number of times according to the settings provided 4) check pigtail connector: could be compromised 5) swap custom quad antenna with a pagoda 10cm length and 6) no obstacles between drone and you.

Hi Arthur, you have to check some things: 1- Goggles must be on the right channel(the same of vtx) 2- Vtx must be on the maximum power, you can check it on BetaFlight configurator or, BETTER, check the led on VTX. 3- Check the pigtail, could be broke.it happened to me also 4- Goggles must be on Diversity mode

Longest range it also depends on vtx power, more power, more range. Probably it's better to do some comparison with my other google(ev300O) at same vtx power.

HI, i paste here the same reply i wrote some months ago: "green OSD on your goggles can help you to understand which "mode" are you using. In the upper left corner you can read RF A, RF B, AV or DIVERSITY, you can change it pressing the upper right button (SRC/Menu button). You have to set DIVERSITY to use both goggles antenna" and then check the channel, you have to set the goggle on the same channel you set on quadcopter, don't use "auto research" function. V3 version has 1.6W vtx power, you have to go farther then 200m.

Very Nice. Now this makes deciding what to buy even more difficult. The Nazgul5 V2 is a very good looking quad and has the performance of a Ferrari. You were cruising at 60kph with just 28% throttle! I'm also attracted to the long range features of the Iflight Chimera 5 or the HGLRC Rekon 5/6 but they don't have the raw top speed of the Nazgul or the punchout power but instead offer 10-20m flight times easily. Obviously the correct answer is to just buy many quads right?
@nufanfpv2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, same doubt here 😆 imho, if it's your first drone, Nazgul is more versatile. Can offer you freestyle skills and can approache a mid range too. You have to add a gps(20€) and buzzer(Vifly finder2, 15€) to approache safely a mid range(2km). This version(6s) can reach 8/9min flight time with a 1500mah lipo battery(Smooth fly). Soon I will add a video about flight time tests.
@MrKrackee2 жыл бұрын
Wow, nice video. I got the same setup. EV800DM with stock antennas and Nazgul5 V2. I flew with 800mW and the iFlight long Antenna. But I only reach about 500m until signal is too bad or completely lost. I tried different channels, the frequency on my goggles is correct. My patch anennta points exactly on the drone position. Do you got any idea how to fix this? Maybe another vtx antenna? Which one do you exactly use?
@nufanfpv2 жыл бұрын
Hi MrKrackee, green OSD on your goggles can help you to understand which "mode" are you using. In the upper left corner you can read RF A, RF B, AV or DIVERSITY, you can change it pressing the upper right button (SRC/Menu button). You have to set DIVERSITY to use both goggles antenna. If your goggles are already set to Diversity i think you have to check vtx cable/connector, maybe they are damaged after a crash. I use a Pagoda on the drone, I purchased it here: prodrone.pl/index.php/en/ During my test no obstacles(trees, buildings, etc) was between the drone and me.

@@nufanfpv thx for your fast response. I am in diversity mode. I just found a wrong value in my vtx settings. It says value 800, label 800.
