You have no idea how empowering it is to see people who look like me talking about college and attending such an amazing institution. Yes its great to applaud the standard acceptance and college videos but watching them it always feels like theres this monolithic criteria for what makes up the right college students for these prestigious schools and that I could be the 1% that is for diversity. Thank you so much for this you have no idea how happy this made me. I'm from Botswana and I'm finishing high school on scholarship at a school in China (all my videos are about student life here) and college app season as a senior now has been killing me. I attended Stanford over the summer as a high school summer student and I loved it so much. It wasn't until I was on campus, taking classes, and meeting people (I was in Okada in Wilbur Hall) that I recognised how much representation matters when you're slightly deprived of it/ Your video has uplifted me to apply regular decision - you and your friends have such good energy - thank you for spreading it!

Aww thank you so much for commenting!! This was the main goal of this channel and I am soo glad it's showing a different perspective! I hope all goes well for you in regular decision, Stanford (or any school) would be lucky to have you!

Thank you for bringing a new perspective to the Stanford KZbin community. As a black female who also is applying through Questbridge, I find that I can relate to your channel a lot more than others. It is, honestly, keeping me sane as I await NCM decisions. Love from Georgia!

As a latina it’s so comforting so many empowered, intelligent, and FUNNY women doing big things at stanford. I just found out I’ve been accepted and I’m hella excited to see what’s in store for me!

As a 12 year old, African American, I’ve always wanted to go to this school but I didn’t think I could because all the Stanford KZbinrs were white and very intimidating. All I knew was that to get into the school you had to be white and intimidating. Then I found your channel and all my worries went away. You’ve made me comfortable in my own skin and I’m grateful for that. Seeing people like me succeeding means I can do that to, and you and your friends are the calmest group of people I ever met. I have to thank you for making this channel and making me come at peace with myself. Whether or not I get into Stanford, I can look back and remember I’m succeeding because my people (for lack of a better term😂) are succeding. Thank You!😁 😁😁😁

This video motivates me SO much. I feel like I’m fumbling in the dark when it comes to college app info, and I do realize that if it’s meant to be God will put me there, but I think that Stanford, right now, is my top school choice. I guess Im saying this to say that this is an amazing video and I have pride for every single one of you as an ethnic girl myself. thank you so much.

How familiar are you with the latinx ethnic house? You are (even slightly) what’s it like there?
@nazjaa5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, i'm not too familiar with casa zapata, I've actually never been. but I've heard that it is very beautiful and their sense of community is very strong, just like the other community centers and ethnic-themed dorms. I'd be happy to put you in touch with someone who would know more about it, if you'd like.
