@@silent.killerr5770 no its 1/10ths of a second to make a shot. So the shot clock starts when you catch the ball. Considering you need 3 tenths of a second to even react to something i say that shits impossible so every one of these shouldn't have counted. But they changed the rules that the shot clock resets to 4 tenths of a second if the shotclock is below 4 tenths of a second. Thats what youre referring to but its a fairly new rule.

When I first saw the clip of that shot as a kid, I thought "that must have been :01, couldn't possibly be 0.1. This must have been before tenths of a second were used. Nope. This was the first year they used tenths, but apparently this guy treated them like full seconds so that the home team could get a shot off idk. Al Trautwig who called that play, is a very sharp and very opinionated analyst/announcer. I'm surprised he didn't have something to say about the awful timekeeping of that play.
@tailorknine50462 ай бұрын
the rule has changed now. its actually impossible. in actuality he did not beat the buzzer if the time was accurately begun the instant he touched the ball, its just humanly impossible. you can slow the tape down all you want, it will reveal that he DID NOT do all that (catch, turn and shoot) in under 0.1 seconds. The rule now only tap shots count, no catch and shoot.

The one vs the bulls was definitely one second, not one tenth of a second. Let’s also remember these are humans pressing the buzzer button as on time as they can, which is pretty much imposisble you’d have to have god like reflexes to press the button the millisecond the player touches the ball, a lot of these are a lot longer than 0.1
