I think Team USA wiII be fine even though none of the superstars are playing. The team is stiII reaIIy good for international pIay, the onIy probIem is size. Even then, Anthony Davis and Cousins are reaIIy good, and Kenneth Faried wont be that bad either. Well, quite honestly as a huge Chris Smoove fan who used to watch Smoove's vids 4 years ago (if not more) I think I have to mention that I miss the old Smoove so much. Yeah, he used to upload videos much more rarely and he didn't have like a million subscribers or whatever but there was atmosphere in those videos. He would make funny intros, he would tell random stories and all, and that was marvelous. That was the magic of his videos. Now... it's all about gameplay, the magic is gone and it's also that the way he plays is taken to some level where what you see in every single video is him scoring 40-50 pts/game, recording approximately 20 ast. & having countless steals. Idk about you, this is just my personal opinion but I don't find this as entertaining as what Smoove USED TO offer.

The Olympics is nice but most of the big names that opted not to show up already have a couple of gold medals and plus this is the FIBA world championship not the olympics... also a lot of the guys are surrounded by drama (CP3, Blake Griffin, K Love) or want to make sure their 100% healthy or used to their new teams/ teammates before the season.. which is to be expected since they play in the best basketball league in the world and that's their jobs.. Olympics comes second to an NBA title

The US has more "stars", but teams like Serbia, Brazil, Lithuania, Argentina, Spain, France, Greece, etc. know how to play international basketball very well. Just look at the Spurs team and how they won the NBA with mostly international players. Most American forget how my Argentina team humbled the US in the 2004 Olympics.

I think it is absurd players dont want to represent their country in a worldwide tournament. This is bigger than the nba and the teams these stars play for. If team USA looses it will be because the stars didnt play and it would be an embarrassment if team USA wins anything less than gold.

Matthew Bryant-Baker You gotta remember that Lebron has been playing well into June for the past 3 seasons. That really takes a toll on someone's body. Ginobli and Parker aren't playing for their national teams in this tournament either, so it's no big deal. They need rest. I personally would love to represent my country every chance I get especially when I get to play basketball doing it, but playing high stake games way into June for the past 3 years does weigh a lot on the body. I don't blame Ginobli, Lebron, or Parker for wanting to get some rest.

The points you made make no sense. Clearly Andre iguodala doesn't suck, the year he came in is the year GS made it to the playoffs. He's a defensive monster and is playing great for his age. David lee is playing great, sure it's not the prettiest game but averaging a double double last season is pretty good in my book. Bogut is there as a rim protector so saying he's bad because he doesn't put up offensive numbers is dumb. And curry clearly is pretty consist if he can average double digit points, 8.5 assists and be among the best, if not the best, 3 point shooter in the league

People are forgetting 2010, mostly young guys and some vets like Lamar Odom and Chauncey Billups, Kevin Durant being their go-to-guy. I think Team USA can get it done, I just think they should get one or two glue guys at the four and five in there, other than Faried and Davis. Guys that can defend and rebound or at least one more stretch four. The guards will do most of the scoring anyway. Maybe invite two or three role-player class bigs like a Patrick Patterson or Taj Gibson or even rookies like Noah Vonleh, Julius Randle. In the end, the talent will suffice, it's up to the system and teamwork.
