Ended up last in conf 1st year like 22-60 but I had made some deals before then, got the Lakers 1st in a BLopez trade and dealt that pick for Whiteside and Tyler Johnson in offseason. Then signed Otto Porter + Jeff Teague as well as keeping Nikola Mirotic from a previous trade. Starting 5 in 2nd year Teague, Tyler Johnson, Porter, Mirotic, Whiteside with Kilpatrick as 6th man and signed some solid backups like Festus Ezeli, Doug McDermott, Richaun Holmes for Inside D, Outside Shooting, and Rebounding/Inside D. Finished my 2nd season 56-26 2nd in Conference somehow.

The NBA (and MLB) have garantueed contracts, so if you cut a player that doesn't get signed, the team has to pay them. It protects the players, and forces teams to trade players instead of just cutting them, which is more entertaining. The NFL teams almost always have to cut players because other team doesn't have to make a trade, they can just cut a bad player instead of trading a decent or good player/pick.
