This game is not a good port. It has most of the in game content the other consoles have but it runs at 30 fps with ok graphics. I wish I didn't buy this game. The 30 fps is the big deal breaker for me. 2K NEEDS TO RUN AT 60 FPS

Yo RGT 85 great video review man. I am so glad you stuck with the Switch version and gave it your full attention I said it would surprise alot people and I expect FIFA too be the same. I haven't played a Basketball game for many a year but NBA2K18 is fully stocked n packed with different modes that a casual like myself can get entertain in tons of stuff. $40 can net you a handful of great games from yesteryear on consoles that don't have that sort of problem. If someone doesn't have so much money to put aside for extra memory (that they shouldn't need to play a physical game), the issue isn't that they're in the wrong hobby; if anything, they're just focusing unrealistically on one factor of a hobby, rather than a more affordable alternative for them. (Pro-tip: you can likely get an XBox One S bundle, _and_ this game, for around the price of one Switch console, not including any game, and you wouldn't run into the memory shortage issue. Same with the PS4 Slim, although you'd be paying just a bit more than for the XBox One S.)

C Ziggy Not with one game; I've yet to see a game take up over 350 GB. The XBox One I had (500 GB model) had around 15-20 retail games, plus several indies, before I had to start doing memory management. And the PS4 had more games than I care to count, only filling up about half its hard drive before I sold it.

If you start the game when you are offline, al your save files corrupt. And you cant play anything but "play now" until you are back online.

The difference is the 30FPS and the 720P resolution. That's why it doesn't look as detailed or crisp. Just a quick tip for everyone... the closer the player models are to the screen the better it looks... also up the game speed to about 63-65 and it runs smoothly. I play in Drive camera 9 zoom and 1 height and it looks great in handheld.

its a decent port. the timing of your shots is a little hard if you play the ps4 version too with it being only 30 fps instead of 60 fps. The cutscenes in my career mode are sluggish in the Switch version, i emailed 2k about it they are aware of the problem and are working on a solution already. ive actually played the Switch version more than I've played the ps4 version this weekend because my wife has been using the big tv and its easy to fire up the Switch in handheld mode and play.

Just saw u didn't play mycareer mode much. Once you get into the Nba is when my cutscenes started dropping frames and audio was desyncing . Almost unplayable, i just turned the sound down and waited for the scenes to end, I wish they would patch it make them skippable. The ps4 and xbox 1 versions have had problems with people's myPlayers just getting deleted and putting them out $100's of VC .

The problem with the Switch version is that the gameplay is too floaty on any other difficulty other than hall of fame. Everything else is fine. They need to fix it ASAP. When it's on Hall of Fame, no problems. It feels great. Put it on any other difficulty and the gameplay will feel off.

No one is talking about this much, but the game supports Amiibo's, so eventually my guess if they don't do the NBA player amiibos that you can use mario or some one else and possibly get free nintendo gear for your player from it possibly vc as well.

Perfect port, much appreciated, they just really phoned in the distribution part and I think they should've put in more of an effort to make sure the full game was in the box, it's not about paying extra for storage so much as the principle of the matter and I'm pretty upset at 2K for that. RGT, u gotta give both sides of the story. I get that the switch version does a lot right but you gotta mention the negatives. Graphics are excellent on this game and aren't a problem whatsoever. However, the game doesn't run as smoothly when it's in docked mode as when it is in tablet/portable mode. This might just be an early problem that will be fixed in an update, but it's still gotta be said. Also, the 30fps rn have the game not running as smooth as the PS4/Xbox 1version but it's still fine if you change the camera setting to 2k mode, the camera u automatically start playing with is pretty bad. Lastly, when creating ur my player, you can't use the face scan to scan ur face so he can look exactly like you. Seems small but it's a pretty important feature for my career and most people utilize it.

Memory SD Card space is no problem, you can just upgrade. The BIGGEST problem is the Saves that saves in the Switch internal Memory. This game takes a huge chunk of that. Nintendo Needs to fix this so we can transfer the saves to an SD Card. This will be a big problem if you love to play a lot of games and you don't want to delete save data. of other games.

My only issue with this game is how much save file memory is needed, and save files must be on the internal storage. If save files were allowed to be on micro SD cards I wouldn't even consider it an issue

Sports games aren't very demanding, but that is a HUGE leap from the ps3/wiiu (if the wiiu had the game). ps3 would be everything on low settings (with some extra tweaks to go lower than low in some spots), Switch would be Medium settings with some on high, Ps4 would be ultra.

Switch version is amazing but... The cut scenes in my career run so slow and lose audio in handheld mode also the loading after you walk out of the locker room takes forever It drives me nuts ! This happens once you open my neighbourhood. But thats non existent in docked mode and like you said the whole game besides that little hitch is awesome.

A lot of fans buy NBA2K because of the career mode. Unfortunately 2K doesn't realize that we don't want a story, we just want to make our own player to play and improve during several seasons. For the past few years it's been cluttered with unskippable crap, to the point where even cutscenes during games take forever until you can skip them. I really wanted this game and the gameplay has been getting better again lately, even this time it appears. But just let me play the game, don't force me to sit through cutscenes.

I remember back when the Tegra X1 chip was first revealed back in 2015 seeing it and like many others who saw it had my mind blown at the capabilities of it and thought of the possibilities of it if it was in the right hands. Fast foward to E3 this year and I remember friends who don't really know much about tech or follow tech saying the reason why multiplatform games are skipping the Switch is because the system can't handle them despite me telling them otherwise. Fast forward to now and 3rd parties are announcing games back to back and multiple 3rd party games have dropped. Just like the demo Nvidia shown on stage, while it's not quite as capable as the PS4 it can run the same games, the same way that while the PS4 isn't quite as capable as a GTX 680 it can run the same games. What we're seeing now is exactly what I was expecting. Many games are being released that are on PS4 and XB1 and, while they don't look quite as good, they're not far off. NBA2K18, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, DOOM, Skyrim, Nights of Azure, Fate/Extella, etc. all aren't far off from their XB1 and PS4 counterparts. Now that this has been proven, any people that are skeptical on Switch's capabilities and 3rd party support can have their fears put to rest.

The joy cons on their own are better than any traditional controller. Attached to the system they're still good. The dog face is horribly uncomfortable. Anyway I'm not into basketball but this looks good. Forgot it was gameplay footage for a second!

I don't think it's so much an issue of being able to afford a SD card or not. But rather that the Switch's internal memory of just 32gb is pretty anemic all things considered. Eventually you will be able to upgrade to a 2tb SD Card when they become available. But they will be pricey. Then there is the fact that it seems like we will end up paying a bit more up front for these games because of the cost associated with carts. I guess it's a tradeoff for portability, and we had to buy memory cards for the Cube and PS2, as well. I just hope that Nintendo's partnership with Sandisk helps to bring the cost of the carts down. I like your videos and content, but I do think that was a bit of an arrogant statement to make about collecting stamps. The Switch still has some issues, especially when saves are tied to the system without any way to transfer those saves to an SD Card. Personally the having to download the multiplayer portion doesn't concern me as I have no intention of paying for Nintendo's online (still find it an anticonsumer practice). Especially when the way their voice chat is handled is such a damned mess. However, there are people who still are limited by their ISP and data caps which makes the prospect of downloading a huge portion of the game a consideration for them when looking at which games to buy. As another poster said if your buying a $60 game and then have to spend another $40. for a $128 gb SD card? then perhaps the Switch should have just had more internal storage to begin with if you would then end up having to get more space regardless.

But I started playing this 3 days ago on PS4, and *quite enjoying* it... because I'm planning to get one for my *Nintendo Switch* and to show all my friends (90% of them) whom are "PlayStation Zombies", that I can play 2K18 away from home and whenever I want!! I agree with everything except the stamp argument. Cmon man you can never say. Well if you're too poor then dont play games. It'll get your video disliked and people to hate. Now what you SHOULD have said(which is a good point everyone else brings up) is the Switch comes with no space and in order for it to be a $300 console it could only come with 25gb and the fact the game is exactly 25gb maybe if it was 20 then we wouldn't need one but hey we do.

JaegerAtreyu I'd say go Digitial if your casual like myself who just wants a solid full court game or go physical if your a core fan and buy yearly releases so you can resale.

+JaegerAtreyu with it being a 16gb download even with the physical version, I decided to buy the digital one. I love physical carts, but it just makes more sense, and I get to play it now.

The 30fps is the deal breaker for me. It's a must in this type of game for me.

As much as I think I would love 2k on my switch I bought it on ps4 because thats where all of my friends are at so I don't think i'll be picking this one up. Honestly the only game i can see myself buying twice is rocket league because A) Its Rocket League and B) Its cheap

30fps gameplay for NBA 🤔... I normally do not care much about frame rates on console games as long as it's solid, but to be honest I have come to expect 60fps and have adjusted to playing at 60fps for last few years. Might be a deal breaker for me that it's running at 30fps. Some people probably won't care though but I'm sure the hardcore will notice. Graphics look amazing for a tablet sized system and I have to tip my hat to the devs for making this game look so graphically close to the other consoles.

I agree, Fire Emblem Warriors is actually letting you choose 720p 60fps or 1080p 30fps

They'll probably come back in some form next year. PS3 had short physics in some way. If the resolution of this version is actually 1080p, then a 720p 60fps option might be doable if the game isn't completely CPU bound.

Question for anyone who owns the game.. can you add created players to the Classic Teams and the All-Time Teams? I want to add missing players like Charles Barkley on the 76ers and Suns, Reggie Miller on the Pacers, Moses Malone on the Sixers and Rockets, etc...

WWE WrestleFest you cant do that but if you choose a old school team that team comes with all star players for that year oe lifetime.. its amazing go get it.. i have not seen barkley yet but will look for him.. i always play with Lakers and old school Bulls..🔥🔥🔥
