sorry for the dumb question. What do the red and blue colors mean?

Orange means favorable while blue means unfavorable-although the context matters. For example, you may want to target players in high over/under games since there will be more scoring involved. You may want to avoid top-tier players in high spread games since they may get fewer minutes in the event of a blowout.

Here's a breakdown of how we update projections for each sport: - NBA: projections and injuries are updated throughout the day, including after lineup lock - MLB: projections, starting lineups, and starting pitchers are updated throughout the day, including after lineup lock - NHL: projections, lines, powerplay units, starting goalies, and injuries are updated throughout the day, including after lineup lock - NFL: projections and injuries are updated throughout the week up until lineup lock on Sunday for the main slate We recommend that you regularly check in and refresh your browser to get the latest updates, especially right before lineup lock.

Vegas provides over/under and spread lines for betting purposes. Since Vegas processes large volumes of bets (at levels much larger than DFS), these are amongst the most accurate projections you'll find on game scoring outcomes. We can use that information in DFS to calculate the expected point total per team -- which in turn can be used to target players from projected high-scoring teams.

How to find value plays for NBA

The quickest way to find value plays is to look at the Daily Fantasy Nerd projected fantasy points ("FP") and value ("Val"). We calculate the value by taking the projected FP divided by the salary so you can get an idea of the bang for buck you're getting for each player. You can quickly identify top value plays by sorting by the projected value column. For the NBA, the top value plays on any given night are usually a result of injured starters resulting in their backup getting a significant boost in minutes.

How do you include the advanced stats such as usage rate and PER into your projections. I've been trying to figure out how to use that stat in a formula but I can't seem to put them in without completely skewing the projected scores.
