I mean if you ask me it’s not worth it NBA rules penalized players for fighting, regardless if the fight is between rivals or within the same team. The punching player will be thrown out and will face a fine (up to $50k and/or suspension.) and while on suspension they both lose play time and take a pay cut, almost fights are more like almost losing 100k or more, I wouldn’t be fighting either lol money is more important than me swinging on a hater, especially if I have the talent to get one on him in the next play 🤷‍♂️

but at the same time reputation does play a factor in how individuals play with you...if there's a perception you're soft then you will get picked on and played roughly against (and arguably that happens with smaller players in general as they usually will never fight or have any real power to do anything)...but players that are tough/crazy usually don't get messed with even when they hit somebody unless it's two guys that are like that. I'd rather sacrifice a little money (compared to those NBA paychecks anyway) to gain reputation that if you fuck with me there's a chance that you're gonna get knocked out in front of millions and be humiliated. Kind of a prison mentality when you first get in.

These are not prisoners in prison, they are the best basketball players In the world and no matter what the size or height many NBA players including short ones ABSOLUTELY had every bit of power the big boys got too lol granted that won’t always happen, but countless small players dominate the NBA that don’t fight, like I said I see what you’re saying, but these are professional athletes, and their end goal was to be in the NBA now that they achieved that lord forbid they’re worried about people thinking they’re soft? Lol they already proved themselves all they need to do is perform, and fighting and not fighting has absolutely zero to do with talent and performance, I’d take a level headed PG that laughs when people try to swing at him then someone whose gonna get into the fight get thrown out and suspended and possibly make them lose and lose out on playoff/championship possibilities. Plus the money loss. It’s still just not worth it, anyway I look at it.
