Imagine every team in the NFL running the exact same offense, and the only thing separating a good offense from a bad one is the talent of the personnel. That’s the NBA right now. They need to treat basketball like it’s a video game. 3 pointers are the meta and the devs need to come in and nerf it.

@@lazzi2462 frequently coaching can overcome a deficiency of talent. Or know how to get the best out of the talent they have. But at this point the NBA is “do you have good jump shooters? Love the NFL way more than the NBA but this is a casual assessment of basketball and gives football too much credit. Because of the rule changes, you now need an elite head coach and quarterback. You always needed those to be a dynasty but now you need them to even have a shot at winning one Super Bowl.” Nick Foles, Joe Flacco, and Eli Manning are never happening again. You also used to have running backs be the best player on high end teams, have defense be better than offense, etc. but that’s changed. So let’s not pretend that football evolution has made the game more interesting than basketball evolution.

Yep, a lot of players simply don’t know how to play team ball. Back in the 90’s you had 8-9 guys on every team that flat out knew how to play team ball. After James Harden, it’s turned into way too much one on one, a lot of players like Giannis who have no skill and just rely on athletic ability and height, all the guys are friends and play soft and there’s no hard-nosed competition anymore. Used to love watching those 90’s slugfests where you could tell a lot of the guys just did not like each other. It’s all watered down now

1). Collins 3pt suggestion works. 2). Get rid of play in tournament. Regular season means less with it. Go back to the old format. 3). Instead of best of 7 in every round. Do best of 3. For the first two rounds. Conference and finals best of 7. Makes teams take the regular season and seeding more seriously. Imagine facing nuggets in best of 3 or OKC? 4). Get rid of defense 3 seconds 5). Reduce the amount of technical fouls let players trash talk. And increase fouls to 7 befoee you can foul out. 6). Get away from a player centric league and go to team. This is the time to try it. Think about the Lions. There's not a star on the lions. But everyone enjoys watching them play. Because the NFL is team centric not player 7) get rid of load management. By severly punishing twams that do it. You must announce that a player is not playing 36hrs ahead of time (exluding a back to back). If not the fans are reimbused 75% of fhe tickets or can choose to go to another game. In addition if a team is shown to be falsfying i jury records. They will be fined heavily and loose their 1st round draft pick for the followimg season.

Hockey did the same by removing the red line…it slowed the game down to a crawl and they changed it and sped the game up and made the game better. Sometimes sports need balance changes

Been saying for years that 3 point shooting at the volume its been at is bad for the NBA. That the NBA is weak and soft now with very few players caring about defense. That most players are not as talented or skilled as they used to be. Or at least don't put in anywhere close to the same effort. But whenever those complaints were made, you'd get analysts and nerds talking about how the players now are better than ever, the game has "evolved", you're just an old head. Moving the 3pt line would be so dumb. There would be no reason for players to be in the corner then, if you're only getting 2pts out of it. Imagine Ray Allen's game tying 3pt that saved LeBron's 2nd ring only being considered 2pts lmao. And if it's a late game situation where a team needs a 3pt to tie, everyone's going to be in the same spot, the wing or top of the arc 3. There would be no spacing for those situations, it'd be so hard to draw up a play in that situation or even get the inbound off due to it being so crowded. Players have gotten much better at shooting 3's the past 10 years, & now you want to punish them for that? It's like if everyone got good at dunking, then you raise the rim to 11ft. Lol

It’s not about what people are too good at, it’s about what fans want to watch. Fans don’t want to watch 70+ three point shots a game teams taking turns in a 3pt contest. It’s not up for debate, the ratings show it. If they don’t address the ratings will keep slipping.
@lazzi24622 сағат бұрын
@@ChosenPlaysYT Yall act like that's the problem for sure & as if it's a guaranteed fix. The WNBA ratings went up this season significantly because of a 3pt shooter. What if they moved the 3pt line & it changes nothing? Then what, find something else to blame? These players are getting paid way too much to give a care about a regular season game, Allstar game, or anything else outside of the Playoffs. If players would just play harder, there wouldn't be any need for all these changes, In-Season Tourney, ASG changes, etc. There are way more things they could fix before resorting to permanently changing the game just because players actually got better at shooting over the years. People will complain that Giannis can't shoot, and then also go complain that teams shoot too many 3's.

The reason I love CBB and not the NBA is because there's a passion in CBB that is non-existent in the NBA. Plus in CBB there are actually different styles of play; some teams try and drain the shot clock while others shoot as quick as possible. Watching the NBA feels like watching the same 30 teams play each other because no one has unique identity.

Except when it suits his narrative to make a point. Then he quickly shapes his story.

Colin treats everything as "The easiest thing to do", or "The smartest thing to do...". Weak analysis on Colin's part. None of those moves are the easiest or smartest. I could say the "easiest" and "smartest" thing Colin could do is to jettison JMac, but he can't do it....

I honestly think the nbas audience is younger than NFL and MLB. Most of them stream illegally

Yeah Colin is clueless about many things in this take. It's rage bait. NBA is doing incredibly well lol

@metabolicraged I don't think it's rage bait the ratings are down, but I don't think they take into account young people are not paying for cable when they can stream it online for free

I believe the only way the NBA will be interesting again to the masses is if a player like Ant Edwards or Ja Morant takes over the league wins MVPs or Championships. Its gotta be somebody that the young people consider cool 😎 Jordan was cool people wanted to be like MJ. Lebron was cool, he grew up in the hood and was superstar as a kid. Todays best players, Jokic Luka, Embiid, Giannis, kids dont wanna play like Jokic. Nobody would ever buy the new Joker 1s, Ant Edwards shoes however would sell out. The NBA needs players that resonate with the young people, but also said player needs to be at the top of the league

Architects and Engineers don't lead construction projects Colin. Project Managers and Superintendents for the General Contractor do. But I get your point.

The NBA needs less games. Can’t have stars sitting out and a singular game only making up 1% of the season
@mattcarberry3684 сағат бұрын
or maybe they just need players that aren't so soft and entitled that they think being expected to play basketball a few times per week is too much work weird how load management and rest nights aren't making players more durable🙄athletes used to say iron sharpens iron, these NBA players today want a free night off every time they feel tired

MLB needs less games

less games ? nah players are soft af like kamala supporters
@jakethethird15844 сағат бұрын
It never used to be an issue. They sit out because they can.
@lazzi24623 сағат бұрын
82 games was never an issue in the past, don't need to lessen games. The issue is, Adam Silver was too much of a "Yes" man. The players run the league now. They get paid way too much nowadays to care about a random regular season game or any Allstar games. They all get extra pay incentives if they hit certain accolades, like making the ASG, winning awards, getting selected to All-NBA Teams. So then why not do the opposite as well? Subtract part of their paycheck if they aren't hitting certain benchmarks. You sit out a 30% of the season, then take off 30% out of their paycheck. You're getting paid superstar money but don't even make an Allstar team or the All-NBA team, then take out 10% for each miss. They need to start penalizing these players where it actually hurts.

Has Mike Vrabel paid Collin to push his narrative? Why does Vrabel have to be the Bears head coach when see clearly see a offensive minded coach is best for young QBs
@drew05133 сағат бұрын
Because Colin has no original thought to offer. He's a broken record.
