People want to compare Luka to Bird, but Magic is the right comparison. Like Magic, Luka is a slow-ish, big bodied guy who plays point. Like Magic, he's not a great defender, but already versatile and can guard all 5 positions if he has to. Both clutch, both high usage. Early in his career, Magic was a crafty scorer but not a great shooter, as Luka has been. Magic improved his 3 pt and overall shooting as Luka has. Like Magic was, Luka is a flashy passer and creative playmaker with excellent vision and is also a great rebounder. There are some stylistic differences, mainly due to coming up in different eras with different rules and different competition, but Luka is pretty much Magic Johnson in this era. Because he started playing pro ball at an earlier age and Magic retired early, Luka has a good chance of passing him. Just because Luka's white doesn't mean you have to compare him to Bird. He's much closer to Magic.

Right until it was dissolved, Yugoslavia had the most gold medals in basketball. Basketball was always popular in this region. But players were not allowed to go and played internationally before 1990 that easily, so this is the reason you did not see them before in NBA. There are many HOFs from ex-Yugoslavia region. And today, you have basically Jokic and Doncic in top 5 players or even top 3 players in NBA.

He is simply the best player I've ever seen, I've never seen any other player do what he does, he is great at so many things, so many aspects of the game. He's the best rebounding point guard I ever saw, a great rebounder, he's an even better playmaker, he's the best point guard I've ever seen, even better than Magic and Stockton. In fact, his passing is just as good as Larry Bird, who I considered the greatest passer of all time. I never thought I'd live to see the day where a player can do so many things great, he has more game than any other player I've ever seen. He's as good of a scorer as any player that ever played, and yet he can rebound and assist better than any scorer that ever played. If you compare him to the greatest of all time, let's just say Bird, Magic, and Jordan. He can do everything Larry Bird could do but he is better because he can handle the ball so much better, he doesn't need the ball passed to him like Bird. He does everything Magic Johnson can do except he's a better scorer & rebounder. He's as good of a scorer as Jordan was except he can rebound and pass better. Given what I just said, he is better than all three of these players because he possesses the strongest parts of each of these player's games but he has more than each of these players. He actually has all of the strengths of these three players into one. He's got the great rebounding of Larry Bird, he has the great ball handling and assisting of Magic, and he has the great scoring ability of Jordan, now each of these players had weaknesses that Luka does not have. In my eyes, that makes him better than all three of these players. I believe he will be considered the greatest player that ever played after he's done, I think that LeBron is the closest to his level, because LeBron has these abilities too, but Luka takes it a step further. If you compare Luka to LeBron Luka can do everything LeBron can except he's a better rebounder and playmaker. Scoring they are about the same, I give the edge to rebounding and passing to Luka, So that makes him better than LeBron too. I mean, let's be real about this, we are seeing it with our own eyes and the numbers do not lie. If you take points, rebounds and assists he's got everyone else beat, if you combine all three. His overall production is second to none for a player in his position, PG
