@scottb303411 ай бұрын
not a thing anymore. Marv's retired, Gumbal is a shadow of himself calling NFL for CBS, Dick Enberg passed away, Bob Costas left NBC and does Baseball on MLB Network...Tom Hammond I think is the only main PBP guy that did these intros that still works at NBC for a possible NBA on NBC revival and NBC probably just recruits Harlan and Breen if ABC gives it up.

Barkley was injured in game 6 and only played game 7 because it was an elimination game. Had the Suns won, he wouldn't have even been able to play in the next series anyway. He had to have surgery after the series.
@scottb303411 ай бұрын
@@jason41144 he wouldn't have been injured had Manning been healthy. He was lost halfway through the season and was the main guy off the bench (and also played Barkley's position). He would have let Barkley rest more during the season and taken the scoring pressure off him which would have let him be healthy for the playoffs. Manning with KJ, AC Green and Barkley annihilate Houston and their weak PFs.

The more I watch this era it ages worse and worse. Jordan played in the weakest era ever
@isaidromerogavino89028 ай бұрын
What makes you feel like that? Personally, I like the physicality of the era. People hadn't figured out the advantage of the 3 point shot, yet. So, the post game and mid-range were prioritized, defensive schemes were simplified and efforts on both ends of the game were balanced.
@ejford50837 ай бұрын
The physicality, minutes played, and man defense would wreck today’s players. Playing in today’s times would only benefit Jordan’s era.
@isaidromerogavino89027 ай бұрын
@@ejford5083 the thing that I can tell with some confidence is that NOBODY would choose to be playing in a league with a level of physicality similar to that of the bad boys era, or prior eras. This is the thing that has to make anyone realize just how difficult it was to play back then. Then, the officiating. Which is the total opposite of toody's , they allowed so much contact which today would merit a flagrant, and wouldn't hesitate to call you for traveling, or carrying the ball. I do not follow NFL, but just by looking at the kind of violence they used to play with, you can tell it was harder to play before, almost hard to say they're the same sports. It's not exactly the same situation with the NBA, but not that different.

He just made it look weak cause he's so great
@isaidromerogavino89026 ай бұрын
@@matthewd84 I really would like to understand how people looked at the NBA back then, before Jordan. It is hard to understand his impact on the game and just how much above the rest he was viewed by peers and audiences. It seems to be a consensus, among players of that era, on the unprecedented skill-set and competitiveness associated to Jordan (excluding Isaiah and probably some others less outspoken/prominent players). I have to be honest, seeing just how relevant and instrumental Jordan was to the NBA development: popularity, economical and narrative wise, back then. It makes me wonder if you could suspect the same kind of critical avoidance towards him from the rest of the league and press was enforced then, as today's klutch media and bunch are accused of. Probably impossible to answer, since he actually dominated the league for a while. Both, individually and with titles, allowing other players and teams to get the spotlight only before and after he did it. I enjoy watching LBJ play, as the main character or the villain. Just can't back him up as the goat, not in a game where results are so heavily influenced by the few, which separates the bunch from the rest. He has failed too much, relied in too many, and taken too little responsibility of it all. Maybe I will change my mind if something happens or some news are outed, but given allegations and so, it's not looking likely. I like to think that I tried to be receptive and fair about this irrelevant thing, probably wasn't. But I respect the opinions which differ from mine, hopefully we get to witness in the near future the player which makes us agree all about being the goat.
