Well the East also had won the last three championships at this point. Would win the next two making it 5. Staring in 80 the East won 9 championships to the west 5 going into the first season post MJ in 1994
@TheSnake11233 жыл бұрын
The eastern conference MJ had to go through in the 90’s was much tougher than the one Lebron went through in the 2010’s. Lebron was able to go to 8 straight finals because the east was a cakewalk for him. There was little competition in the east. The Bulls before Derek Rose got hurt, the aging Celtics, and the Paul George led Pacers were the only teams in the east who gave Lebron any type of competition when he was with the heat and cavs. Basketball was more rugged and physical back then. Mj had to run through the gauntlet of talented teams in the east. It wasn’t easy and the fact that he conquered every challenge that came his way after he swept the pistons is the reason why he’s the GOAT

When legendary players stuck with their teams through the good and bad, and eventually making the best rivalries in the history of sports. The NBA back then was about pride and killing yourself on the court to win a championship. Today's stars of the NBA just want the money and the owners see it as pure business, irrespective of winning or losing. This greedy selfish mindset disregarding what fans want is ruining the NBA. The flair and intensity is diminished and exists no more.

Basketball was more serious and intense back then because I was a teen with minimal responsibilities, who was able to put more effort into being entertained by it. As a middle aged married man with children and knowing that there is more to life than the a game being played by young men who are young enough to be my sons, the game isn't as significant. Perspective is everything.

My last in-person Bulls game! iirc, a few days earlier It was revealed that Isiah Thomas of the hated Pistons wouldn't be on the Dream Team for the upcoming '92 Olympics, so the crowd gave him hell all game. Bulls blew them tf out. Back then when a player fouled out, the P.A. system would always play "Hit the Road, Jack" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5K4foKdn71gpNk. Well, when Isiah went to the bench in the 4th quarter for the last time, guess what the P.A. played. Crowd went crazy and sang along. Fun times. And TV does not do justice to MJ. Seeing him explode to the basket irl was jaw-dropping. After he unretired, he was a step slower, didn't jump quite as high and didn't explode of the floor the way he used to. I get it, we all get old. So lucky I got to see him and the Bulls at their athletic peak.

The "Moment of glory", Jordan didn't allow that to be. He was too bitter about his hand not being shaken to allow himself to enjoy the "moment of glory." He should've thought "well if that's what he wants, that's how he'll have it, I don't care, because I've finally gotten past them and am going to the finals".
