@ibgib4 сағат бұрын
You don't get it. There are no more: travels, carries, offensive fouls (charges, chicken wings, elbows, off arm pushoffs, etc.). Basically the only rules left are: blocking (like you thought charges still exist?) touching legs on 3-pointers (thanks a lot Zaza), and not having a big enough Instagram following.

The refs stopped calling "carries" at the start of the 2023-2024 season ... it's an unwritten rule now to reduce whistles and judgement calls. Also, the first bounce was to control a loose ball, it was not an intentional dribble. The entire sequence was chaotic, but there were no clear rule violations.

@cpataxpro3 сағат бұрын
@@andreacorrado No. He dribbled three times and then picked up his dribble (controlled the ball in a gather step) on his right foot (the gather counts as a zero step) and then he took one additonal step (two are allowable) on his left foot and elevated into his shot. Watch the video in slo-mo at .25x (use the settings feature ... the gear icon), count the steps, and read the rules.

@@cpataxpro it’s exactly what i did, to slow down the frames…just for analizing the movement.
@cpataxpro29 минут бұрын
@@andreacorrado Ok good. Then focus on the second part (the close-up view) of the play. JC dribbles, then he "picks up his dribble" or "controls the ball" with his hands while on his right foot (the "gather step" which counts as zero), then he steps on his left foot (step one of two allowable "additional steps") and immediately launches up into his shot off that left foot. He gathered the ball and took one step. No travel violation since he could have taken another step on his right foot before shooting or passing if he wanted to. Note that the reason he launched off his left foot was an attempt to draw the foul on the defender (but no foul was called). Hope that helps, it was a chaotic and complicated play.

#5 was such a blatant carry (twice) and offensive foul. Should've replaced it with Doncic defending the Utah crowd for the game winner lol

Also, the first bounce was to control a loose ball, it was not an intentional dribble. That was a blatent defensive flop, and the charge call rules require that both of the defenders feet must be set (planted) in a defensive position (squared up). The entire sequence was chaotic, but there were no clear rule violations.
