I think Castle did show more on ball play than expected during SL but I think the PG narrative might hurt peoples perception/expectations of him. I still like to think of him more as a derrick white type player where he isn't a flashy high usage monster but can make those simple high IQ on/off ball plays when he can. Derrick Whites Gleague Usage was at 31% but was at the 15-22 % range when with the Spurs. I can imagine Spurs implementing a similar development plan involved with Castle.

I watch mainly the Rockets but I do pay attention to the West. Mavericks should be a couple of wins better. The Rockets might win 50 through internal development but won't over-take the Mavs. Sheppard looks better than I thought but, like you said, he won't get that many minutes with Fred VanVleet starting. Memphis is hard for me to judge - I think they got better but I can't tell how much. Like you, I don't think the Pelicans know what they are doing - nothing fits. Spurs got better but they are still tanking so don't expect too many games added to the W column. I think the West is due for a shake-up this coming season. Suns, Warriors, Pelicans & Lakers will either stagnate or drop in the rankings. I predict the Rockets and Memphis make the playoffs.

@@mattblacke882 I also struggle seeing them getting to 50 until I realize Udoka has been focusing on defense. Al he does with the Rockets is DHOs and pick and roll or throw it down to Sengun. I think he will actually implement a real offense this season and it will show up in the win column.

Mavs better is top 2 seed. Success for us has to be based on post pj and gafford. Less injuries would be nice this year

Cp3 working with Castle is huge and will matter. Of course Josh doesn’t buy into things like that though lol

I think cp3 will help. Just never liked the cp3 developing Shai pg skills argument. Shai in kentucky was an extremely efficient shot maker, in his time with the clippers he was an efficient shot maker. Shai currently plays more of a slashing 2 than a 1 currently. If anything Cp3 nurtured Shais scoring more than anything.

@@andywalken6838 Ok but SGA could be top 30 or 40 player of All-Time Im not expecting that from him I’d say his ceiling is somewhere between current Jrue Holiday and peak Jimmy Butler. If the shot comes along (doesn’t look broken) that type of potential is there and Cp3 should help and the discussion of him playing PG or not doesn’t mean a ton to me because the NBA is pretty positionless now for example Jimmy averages 5-7 assists every year and no one calls him a point guard

@@bkelly625 To me its about if his shot doesn't come around how much usage will he deserve. He's got real game, but you got to convert shots. Tough to say how good of a scorer he'll become. It just doesn't feel as certain as people are making it out to be. The numbers are never there.
