miner, penny, hill, carter, now kobe and lebron, all of these kids wanted to play like jordan, obviously, they want to be the best and most spectacular player, and I guess this story will be the same with the future players coming into the nba, we will see more jordan's players, but I'd like to see players having the style of magic, thomas or barkley, that would bring more fun to the fans, but that would be harder to see than the next michael jordan, cause everybody wants to play like him

@blackadam06...Zones were illegal in the NBA back then (when Jordan was playing), not to mention that the zones that they're talking about in the newspaper quotes, were not the same zones that they currently played in college. A lot of teams used to "cheat" by double and triple-teaming Jordan off the ball, but the illegal defense rule prevented teams from triple teaming Jordan beyond the free throw stripe when he didn't have the ball. Thank goodness for this rule!

When there's something in the air And the earth is shaking Something inside me knows One heart went falling A premonition in my bones I can sense it, there it goes Something about two lovers that changes the world I can detect it Seem to reflect it and I say I feel it in my heart, well Feels like another one It gets me in my soul now It feels like another one When I look into your eyes There's a reaction And I don't need to know what makes it happen I know I've been in love before But love's a magic open door And every time somebody reaches in my heart I can detect it I got to reflect it, I say I feel it in my heart, yeah Feels like another one It gets me in my soul now It feels like another one I'm lost in the sauce by a force that I can't pause When I come across the open doors that were yours It's uncontrollable whenever I'm holding you With a love that I feel as good as gold with you So may I address you with a little bit of tenderness and Togetherness it takes to form a relationship You know the day that these feelings began I said then It feels like another one A premonition in my bones I can sense it, there it goes Something about two lovers that changes the world I can detect it Got to reflect it I feel it in my heart, well Feels like another one It gets me in my soul now It feels like another one When you feel the reaction of physical attraction And deep in your mind it's pure satisfaction From the need of true companionship And once you feel it inside your soul Oh man you get captivated, elevated, rejuvenated Fascinated, so many feelings it's hard for me to state Cause no one can really defy The power of love taking over and over Comfort one another, lover to lover No matter how you avoid it It's still gonna uncover When you can't detect it or reflect it Don't try to neglect it You gotta respect it

@Air23Davis well, Shaq was dominating with his body, all that mass. Just push everyone out of the way and dunk it. Olajuwon was dominating only couple of seasons. MJ was doing day in day out. Also those kids thinking that todays stars are better than stars from 20 years ago, well, just watch a full game of 1992 Eastern Conference Semifinals between Bulls and Knicks, or couple of years before that between bulls and pistons. Not a highlight reel, but full games ;) You'll see the real defence.
@blackadam0614 жыл бұрын
And lastly, another noticeable effect of the rules change, is the DECREASE in ball movement. Teams are running MORE high screen-n-roll, which leads to MORE "1-on-1" play now, than there EVER WAS in MJ's era. One way of PROVING this is to simply look at the stark DECREASE in "team" assists per game. This facet of team play dramatically DROPPED, and is SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER than it was during the mid 80's thru the 90's & that's a FACT!

Now that I FEEL and I respect.. When I see these young kids running their mouths talking about Kobe Bryant is the best ever. Complete lunacy. Kobe would have been a GOOD player in that era not a great one. Their are no more great defenders in the league BUT in that era you had men.. no superstars who could score and handcuff you too. It brings tears to my eyes to see how watered down this league has become. High School players wouldnt dare come out for they knew their skill level was not on par.

If anyone is foolish enough to compare today’s best players with yesteryears legends is just foolish. It is a completely different game each generation. Best players should not be judged against players of different eras for some obvious and for some not so obvious reasons. Maybe players should just be judged against their peers in that time era they played in because of all of the different circumstance players play in? But with that being said, the “league” never saw anyone like Michael Jordan, he was and will always be the absolute best.
@blackadam0614 жыл бұрын
There were no zones in MJ's era huh? Oh really? "Last season, Jordan had to [overcome] the harassment of [zone traps] and [double & triple teaming] to win the scoring title by averaging 37.1 points a game" -- NY Times, Nov 4, 1987 "Perhaps the biggest confusion of all was the tougher [illegal-defense] rule to [combat zone defenses.]" -- Rod Thorn; former VP of Operations; "The Sports of Times 1994: Combating hand-checks the world over" I thought zones weren't played back then? LOL!!

"[Zones] were also used [frequently] before they were [legalized] as well. One example, the 80s Celtics were known [users] of it & always got away with it. These are the same Celtics Jordan destroyed from an individual standpoint." -- NY Times, Feb 29, 2009 Versions of "zone 'D" have LONG been in the NBA B4 it was "legalized in '05. Besides, today's version isn't even a REAL zone because the def 3-sec rule PREVENTS it from being one LOL!! MJ faced more of a zone than today's set up..

What!!! The fact you are letting know about double-teamed is a joke. Michael used to be covered the same way, because man to man was completely unstopable. Kobe is good but never like Mike. In the same era Kobe would be good but he won´t be like Mike. JORDAN is too far from him, from them... This guy took over the league. NBA HISTORY LEADER IN POINtS PER GAME state this opinion. ZONE DEFENSE is easier, it gives you a better shoot position, if you are not a good shooter, that´s another story.
@alessdiavolo16 жыл бұрын
Jajaja... check out the from the minute 1:12 to 1:17... can Kobe, Lebron, T-Mac and others do that? NOOOO... Ánd that´s only part of the skills he had on the court. When he got the ball something amazing happened not in NBA... in basketball. Kobe is good but he´s not even close to legends like Larry Bird and Magic. Don´t pretend to compare Kobe with the one who is beyond to them.
