Rocket announcers are awesome. They made a lot of lost games fun to watch. Commentary was always on point. They recognize players, their strength and weaknesses. Most importantly they have a lot of love for the young guys on the team. This team better start winning soon so we can hear these guys calling wins.
@incHsos2 жыл бұрын
I can't agree with you more of this. Rocket announcers and sengun are the reasons I still endure the poor coaching / games.
@ashlynnfitzgerald8539 Жыл бұрын
There by far the most annoying commentators guys. We get the pass was a dime but do you really need to say "not a nickel, not a penny that's a dime baby every time he makes a nice pass. Also what is an illegitimate no look pass because the one guy is constantly saying that's a legitimate no look pass. If I was a Rockets fan I'd have to watch the games on mute. Y'all are crazy to think there entertaining, try annoying and repetitive. 😂 Garbage commentary. 😂😂😂
@bryanduncan1410 Жыл бұрын
How anyone can watch this and not cringe at Ryan Hollins’ “not a nickel, not a penny” setup to call every good assist is beyond my understanding. It takes away from a highlight reel to hear the same thing over and over. I find myself anxiously anticipating the call over enjoying the highlight. Switch it up, mix in some new material, discuss the play in more detail, or just call it with enthusiasm. For the love of basketball cool it with the same tired phrase.
@ibrahimguler6177 Жыл бұрын
@@bryanduncan1410 Thing is you're watching edited footage. Once in a game or once in a week calls merged together and created for us to watch them side by side. Ryan Hollins doesn't repeat this anytime and everytime. He's a pretty exciting commentator. If you didn't like it you have the right but you wouldn't get this frustrated with him while hearing him live.
@bryanduncan1410 Жыл бұрын
@@ibrahimguler6177 Yes I am well aware that highlight reels are edited and this is not continuous within a game. My comment stands. I don’t dislike Ryan Hollins, he just needs more material so that when highlights are compiled it doesn’t sound like a montage of Ryan Hollins saying the same thing over and over. Same issue with Blum on the Astros broadcast repeating the “meatloaf” line from Wedding Crashers any time McCormick gets a big hit, or Vandermeer with the “Rock and Roll” every Texans TD. It’s fine to have a catch phrase, it should just be used more sparingly and mixed in with several others. I’m glad you enjoy it though, I do prefer him over Bullard.

@kenton2502 жыл бұрын
@@abdullahtayhan024 "Dime" is a common phrase for an assistant, so saying it's not a penny or a nickel basically implys the pass was a "10".
@agusgasco75232 жыл бұрын
@@abdullahtayhan024 So the word “dime” generally refers to the US coin of 10 cents of a dollar, but it’s also used as slang for “great assist” on a basketball setting. “Nickel” and “penny” are the names for the 5 cents and 1 cents coin, but neither of these have any basketball associations. So, the expression is a common play on words of different kinds of coins to end on “it’s a dime” meaning “great assist”.
