Yeah I started to realize my created players in myleage and mygm weren’t playing like the stars I wanted to play like. The simulations were terrible but when I actually play with them they’re great. I knew tendencies is what gives the player life. Been using templates for how I want my players to be. However, this was really help in giving me a breakdown of the sweet spots for each. They'll go from scary to shoot, while open, to just chucking everything lol

Yea every 2k has a slightly different contest system so the exact same sliders from 2k20 aren't gonna work so well in 2k23, just takes a bit to get a good feel for the sweet spots and then you can really have some fun

man thx for da video. helped me out fr. i was going crazy cuz i didn't know anything bout tendencies. just one thing i saw in a forum dat play discipline is actually like: Depending on the tempo setting each AI team has a time range where they stop just moving the ball and the begin to look for a shot. A player with a low play discipline tendency will disregard the coaches tempo desires and look to score when they have the ball. so damian lillard for example has a lower play discipline than trevor ariza. sorry for the long text and my english tho (im from brazil)

So, I’ve been building a roster for a my league I do on 2K19 using this series as a basis. Tendencies and badges. Are these accurate for 19, I noticed they are for 20. Thanks. Super helpful videos. I have to go back and edit quite a few players I made years ago based off these tendencies.

Yea the tendencies system hasn't changed over the years, it's always be the same. The only difference is that in each game, different moves are more effective than others because of new mocap'd animations. So my recommendations in this video are for 2k20, but the meaning of every tendency remains the same

Yeah, I get the meaning. I was more concerned about the super sensitive tendencies like Dish to open man and shooting mid range all the time. Trying to build various player types and want to keep them to their respective type. Love the channel man. Thanks for the quick response.

The only one I’m confused on at this point is in the Jump Shooting Category is “Shot Under Basket” does this mean he shoots a jump shot from here or is it his tendency to shoot whether it’s dunk, layup or shot? Last thing I want is a dude who’s supposed to drive in and do layups or dunks pulling up for a jump shot.

Depends on your highest rating group if your player has shooting stats high; he'll have sharp. If you want a glass cleaner you Max all rebounds stats and lower other stats.

It's the same for every 2k, the only difference is different moves are effective each year. For example, hop steps in 2k20 are very good, 2k21 they're pretty terrible. As long as you're a little knowledgeable of the animations each year, you'll know which tendencies to give your players less or more of.

You can upload player DNA. Which might help, but you can only have so many and I believe in your roster editor itll show multiple of those players. 2k usually never loses those things, it's on their cloud servers. The only way to really lose it is to go to your actual game files and delete reserved space and your actual saves. As long as you dont do that, you shouldn't have any worries

Triple threat idle means he does nothing in a triple threat. He'll catch it and be technically in a triple threat but he won't jab, pump fake, anything. He'll just always hold it and do nothing. That doesn't mean he wont drive if he has a lane or shoot whens he's open, but he's not a footwork type of guy

Tbh man there is no Best Player ever tendencies. Like, If I give them a high tendency to shoot 3s then they'd have to have a high 3pt rating, fast shot, not be short, etc. Theres too many factors even for that stat alone. Thats not even going into dunks, rebounds, everything else that revolves around the game of basketball. So ideally the best player ever would have 99 everything for attributes, which automatically makes them the best player. Even with 99 everything, the perfect player would hypothetically just instantly shoot 3s from halfcourt and never miss, so would defense or dunking, driving, handles, passing be even considered in the tendencies? Theres too much that goes into that, nobody would agree on how this person with 99 everything should be playing. Theres no perfect formula for it so it isn't possible.

​@@kingofall5299 You'll mainly need a good passing vision attribute or a good passing iq attribute. Pair that with a dish to open man tendency around 65 to 70, raise it if from there if you want him to be more steve nashy, lower it if you want him to be more like a john wall or d rose. Then for driving, obviously give him the tendency to drive/ drive off screen, and spot up drive. Then play around with the drive setup, and driving sliders for each dribble move. I recommend putting them very low, 1-5 for most, maybe 10-20 for "go to" signature moves you want for that player. Depending on the signature dribble moves you have equipped he might for instance have a slow, vulnerable crossover animation but a fast behind the back animation, so you can play around with that and have him be more unique with the moves he decides to use. And most importantly make the "no driving dribble move" tendency like 90-99 or else he'll nonstop do dribble moves when he has his defender beat and it'll look whacky.

@@kingofall5299 Attack strong on drive can be 99, thats never a bad thing. If you have his shot tendency up, the one right above the touches tendency, then that determines how many plays he gets ran for himself. if you want him to be able to make a lot of plays then i'd make sure his first play type is pick and roll ball handler, I cover play types in the beginning of the video. That gives him the most opportunities to do something with the ball. Secondly, if you have your shot iq attribute too high he'll never take risky shots so keep that in mind

driving in and out tendency is for a specific dribble move. you'll wanna make sure your guys have a high attack strong on drive tendency.

@@robertgoulart1397 Just kinda depends on the type of player you want. above 85 is good for slashers, 80-85 should be solid for guys you want to drive. Id also look into their shooting tendencies and see how youve set them for shooting close shot/ under the basket.
