@CLNS NBA Legends Vault Keep bringing these guys out of hiding OG, little media tip if it helps people love to hear the locker room stories and reasons why certain things happened the way they did, example; pivotal moments in your big games, why certain decisions or plays were made. @@smittyboy13 there’s no “riff” between Larry and max lol. They spoke extensively during the bubble and text frequently. This is a man made rumor based on the (very few) instances Larry or max have said anything publicly about each other that wasn’t 100% positive. Max and Bird were champions together, teammates. Did they see life the same way? Absolutely not but they both saw winning the same way. In 2 weeks we celebrate the 40 yr anniversary of birds first title and Max finals MVP. I’m hearing some “rumors” of a reunion of sorts... 🤔 😉

I was a die-hard Detroit Bad Boys Pistons fan and the one player we could not stop was Kevin McHale. This guy was unstoppable in the paint with those long arms tipping the ball in, that jump hook or turn-around jumper. One of the best players of that era by far and one of the all-time greats.

That couldn’t be further from the truth. Unsure why this Red made rumor still exists. Was there tension between Larry and Max? No. They just didn’t chill 24/7, they played ball together and won titles together. “Just ask him?” Max is first to say he doesn’t belong in HOF (even though he most def does), he has also said over and over that had the trade talks not been so defaming to his character, and an option exists, he’d have swapped spots with McHale and went to 6th man. Can you imagine? Walton one of the most Over blown trades in history. Max played til 1990, Walton played just 82(+/-) games in 3 years on the books w Celtics. Bias died. Bird/McHale forced to log 40+++ mins per game in 87, 88, 91. Had max been there, would the Celtics have won in 87? Could they all have played a season or two longer? Probably. Serious question bc I’ve seen u make this comment before about “max will tell ya how good he was...” do u even watch these segments? If anyone had an idea that max was so salty and jealous, then why does McHale, Parish, Tiny, McAdoo, Henderson, ML, Cowens, Tommy, Carlisle, all say otherwise. This interview w McHale is just proof of how happy max was for Kevin’s growth and how much he helped him grow. So ur claims are absolutely antiquated and have since been proven wrong.

@@mvoulgaropoulos I agree; however, greatness is not about a moment, it’s about a period of time and Bird did what Max could only do in a fleeting moment in his whole entire career with skill snd confidence Bird lead the team so long and with such authority the Celtics and all other great players marveled at him when he played as if they were mere spectators in the stands.
