He meant to play competitively in the states. To compete in front of scouts at club level, the costs get ridiculous year round. The development in the U.S isn't set up to have players succeed in High School and College through the MLS draft like other major sports. Not to mention the leagues focus on attracting outside talent (Beckham, pirlo, villa, Kaka) makes opportunities in the league scarce for a young player. If you're a young athlete, and know you can make so much more money and have it cost less to get there, why would anyone play soccer here in the states? That's why arguably the best player in US history (Landon Donovan) began playing in Germany, just like pulisic.

@Juan-bt9zw5 жыл бұрын
If some high schools in US take more seriously for the kids the practice of this sports, they could be now fighting for very good and talented youth players. Paying them a scolarship to study and play semi-profesional leagues, and then trying luck in the draft of each season. Many good players and people there who loves soccer would play in the best leagues and in somepoint, go jump in one european league to improve their career. But the basketball is the sports of US, thats no question about it, and me personally enjoy the NBA as I enjoy the soccer league here in Spain. Is totally diferrent, they surely like more this soccer league and honestly, I prefer that NBA basketball than FIBA. The competition is more savage and inspiring there. Each country have his own sports, wich is a very rich point in culture for the world. And yeah, thats it haha its my opinion, saludos.

This is such a great basketball show with pro basketball players in the basketball hall of fame who know so much about basketball. Sometimes they even talk about basketball.

is that goal small or is shaq just that big?
@luuk77466 жыл бұрын
XIFOZ both! The goal is prob a junior goal which is 5'11" ish. Shaq being 7'2" doesn't help! A normal goal would be 2.30 meters in length, which is about 7'6".

Actually the history of the word soccer is just a shortened word for Association Football. Look it up. They had to dumb it down cause Americans already had a 'football' sport.

What Stu meant by expensive is that in America you have to pay a pricy amount to play on a good club/academy. But in other countries they pay you if you’re a good football player to be on their club.

@Apollo-el4zi6 жыл бұрын
Charlie Wright Yes they do, they fund plastic clubs like Man City, and ruin the top five leagues. Due to the World Cup in Qatar, all European leagues will have to stop in November, and restart in February, this is going to affect the season right before the Word Cup, the season during the World Cup, and the season after. I’m not even bringing up all the youth academy abuse that occurs in Arab owned clubs such as PSG and City. Meanwhile, I don’t see American fans changing the sport at all.
