Honestly this could be the secret to Harden. Have Embiid do the heavy lifting in the regular season and then let old school James Harden come out in the post season so harden is rested. It's a legit argument on who's actually better between Tatum and Brown, this is something I've been saying for the last couple years, and conversations like this is why I feel like Brown need to get up out of Boston, and being that he has yet to sign a extension to stay in Boston, it's not hard to see why, personally I would love to see him go to a team like Orlando whenever he's free, that team has so much potential in the future on BOTH sides of the floor.

He's just ok with himself, not being salty or begrudged, not feeling like he's a failure due to not having any rings. He explained it very well once - out of high school and into college he was not expected to accomplish much, no one ever would've thought about him reaching the NBA; but he did it and he became one of the best players of his era, an MVP. And that's why he considers his career a huge success as he simply exceeded all the expectations. That doesn't mean he does not take himself seriously.

@@pon372 I think they got something good going in Boston and it would be a shame to see him leave but you've got a point. JT may be considered the better prospect but right now JB is the most consistent, they should let him have the ball no doubt. He proved himself in last year's playoffs and he is doing well again this year.

The Celtics wasn't even looking for Brown in OT. If it wasn't Tatum, it was Smart taking the shots. Even for the game winning attempt, Brown was right there, and Tatum threw it out to Smart. They're going to make him leave that team if they don't start respecting his position as the #2.

He should be #1. He's more consistent and reliable, more poised and energized and I get the same feeling as you - his dissappearing acts at some points are not just his fault but also, and I feel mainly, a result of the team not feeding him the ball. If they value Tatum's status and clear hierarchy more than winnig the game then they don't deserve Brown and I'll be happy for him to leave and be the #1 option on some other team.

I don't know how many times Boston has changed their coaches in the last couple years but this team needs better coaching. The fact that they have been top team for the last 5-6 years is not because of the coaches but how the team is loaded with good players who can bring you a championship. But maan 18 seconds wasted for nothing. People were comparing Tatum to Lebron couple years back, c'mon Brown has been showing up in big games not JT.

Manzulla isn't bad - he adjusts, he draws good plays, he designed good defensive schemes. But not reacting timely to on-court developments is surely his weak spot. Same was with Budenholzer and they lost and he got fired. I literally have no idea why they do this.

The nba/team narrative is that Tatum supposed to be the guy and that comes from him having the szn he had as a rookie, he stamped himself. But calling it like I see it is me saying Brown should start being the go to guy in clutch. It is what it is cause JB doesn’t really take his foot off the gas even if his shooting percentage is bad. Stop insisting Tatum is the best player on the floor every night. Sheesh. It's obvious the NBA is promoting him. Jaylen Brown was Boston's best player last year in the playoffs also, don't forget. Both Embid and Harden are more effective. Booker and Durant are also a level above.

@@pon372 brown is great but he's a second star next to an all time great. He's a bit too good to be tatum's robin but he would be perfect with embid. He can definitely go to his own team and have his best year statistically. In two year he might improve his play making and leadership skills. But that can also just make him believe he's that guy and as the #1 guy I just don't think he will ever win that way. So the choice is on him. Harden was 22/23 when he chose to leave OKC. Brown is around 27/28. So even if he leaves don't expect him to have a huge leap.

It was nothing for him to be hanging with the homeless handing out stacks of 10k to help them on their feet. When hes got his head and heart in the right place dude plays legit.
