NBC Monday Night at the Movies Intro (10/2/89)

Movie was Cry for Help. Found this on a vhs tape I bought at a garage sale. As recorded from WFLA/Tampa.

You have Rupert Murdoch to thank for that, who had an affiliation with NBC at the time. When Murdoch's Sky Television Plc merged with British Satellite Broadcasting in 1990 to form British Sky Broadcasting Ltd, The Movie Channel was one of the products brought over from British Satellite Broadcasting, and they wanted a fresh look to the channel's brand - so they used NBC's ident but altered the colour scheme and threw in a different musical score. They kept the channel's name for 7 years before bringing it in line with the standardised "Sky Movies" set. Indeed much later in 2016 that channel set was rebranded as Sky Cinema. Personally, I much prefer BSkyB's musical score. ;)

@@aldomir Same thing with the French network La Cinq for the Le Film Ce Soir (The Movie Tonight) bumpers the brought some bumper pieces and slightly the music as well.
