Outside of Chicago, NBC Sports Philadelphia is still active for the Philadelphia area, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. NBC Sports Philadelphia was the home of the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Philadelphia Flyers, and it is formally known as Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia, the channel that recently launched on October 1, 1997, replacing both PRISM TV, and SportsChannel Philadelphia. CSN Philly was renamed to NBC Sports Philadelphia on October 1, 2017 after 20 years.

NBC was our childhood, not just that, we won’t forget watching the voice of Hockey Mike “Doc” Emrick on wednesday nights, and the Stanley Cup playoffs in the living room. Regional Sports Networks are going the way of Local Newspapers, Radio, and TV News. A generic national type thing that has no ties to its city and where you know more what is going on in NYC or LA than you do on your own Mainstreet, USA.

An RSN which in most media markets is the main broadcaster for local NBA, MLB, and NHL games, however NFL games are typically on over-the-air channels like the local FOX or CBS affiliate and occasionally NBC or ABC if it's a prime-time game since NFL teams only play once a week and the NFL is far too popular in America for them to force local markets to buy a cable package to watch their team play. Although some RSNs have their own ESPN-style news coverage of the local NFL team, especially if no other games are playing and they have to fill time-slots.
