We have to admit that we lost our path with satanic communist regime, we chose wrong side and we let those red plague to spread in King Aleksandar's I Yugoslavia! Serbia today, thanks to God and allies, has Crown Prince Aleksandar II, worldwide respected recognized and well known person, real leader and unifier who is above daily political issues. Only Crown can give us continuity with our honorable ancestors and an uncorrupted system and a sound basis for the return of the old glory and honor of our people and country! Kingdom of Serbia is the only correct and possible way if we want to be worthy of our ancestors and responsible to our descendants. Crown will unite us with our real allies and more important to unite all ideas and politics for wellbeing of Serbia and Serbs where ever they live. Catchy title but they are no more "pretend" than any other monarch with no or limited constitutional power. Besides a strong historical and symbolic influence, our royal couple has done much for their country - especially Princess Katherine, who selflessly accomplished dozens of humanitarian projects so far. I have organized a few myself, and I know how much heart, effort and time has to go into each one of them. She deserves a huge thank you from our people. As for my countrymen who think that the Prince should speak better Serbian, I can only say, language affinity is a very personal matter, and I find of much more importance the fact that he is a well-connected, educated, decent positive force for Serbia in times when Serbia needs as much of it as possible to keep the delicate balance when facing its own challenges against the framework of fragile World peace & politics.

Kind of wrong on multiple accounts here. While there is little legitimacy of government in royalty to begin with, his claim to the "Throne" is a rather disputed one. Post Ottoman Serbia really only had political actors that used the title of king. His claim is no greater than that of an Obrenovic. Now a claim of being humane is completely asinine here. In 2015 the royal residence alone cost 34 Million RSD. 34 Million out of taxpayer money. Your money. They are a pointless drain on an already stained economy with questionable and potentially fraudulent income. Katarina does not donate to charity. She, with no elected legitimacy or authorization appropriates Serbian taxpayer money in order to fuel a populist lifestyle presentation. We need to make this abundantly clear. They are awarded our money, money that could be spent fixing roads, hospitals etc, and simply direct the funds to where they choose. Exempt from taxes or the rule of law. As all monarchs do. Monarchies are evil, there is no god given right of Sovereignty. A government is legitimized only by the will of the people. This is just robbery.

Alexander II is Prince of Serbia and distant relative of King Charles. While serving as a UK military officer, Alexander II has publicly declared that he does not claim any rights to the throne of, Yugoslavia, and now Serbia. The palace he resides in now, was purchased by his grandfather Alexander I, so Alexander II has all rights to own the palace, that was confiscated by the totalitarian communist regime of Tito. It is not clear, what is so funny or amusing, in saying that the state still denies that property to its rightful owner! This video is one scholarly example of the subtle propaganda that NBC pushes in all semantic directions!

You my have well have said that Princes Charles and William are the "pretend royal family of the UK." Prince Aleksandar was the heir to the Yugoslavian throne (country which was divided following the war of the 90's). His father (King Petar 2) did not abdicate from the throne - Tito abolished the monarchy and formally deposed King Petar 2. This was done without any referendum and as previously stated the King refused to abdicate. Churchill designated Suite 212 at Claridge's Hotel, London Yugoslav territory for the day so that Prince Aleksandar could retain his right to that same throne. As with many European households after WW2 when the communists took over, these people were thrown out of their countries along with thousands of men who were for King and country (as was the case in Serbia). The journalist who wrote this article should undertake more investigative work before commenting.

After Peter II of Yugoslavia (Alexander's father) was deposed by Yugoslavia's Communist Constituent Assembly, he settled in the United States and died in Denver, Colorado. he was interred in Saint Sava Monastery Church at Libertyville, Illinois, the only European monarch so far to have been buried in the United States. In 2013, Peter's remains were returned to Belgrade, Serbia and buried in the Royal Family Mausoleum at Oplenac.

Lol yourself. There have been numerous instances in history where kings or queens didn't speak the language of their people. William III of England spoke Dutch. The last Tsarina of Russia, Alexandra, spoke German and had to learn Russian. There's more to loving and representing a nation via historical continuity and symbolic traditions than "language", which can in time be learned, something that many Serbians will agree on.

Ah......Nekic? 1. The royal family didn't betray their country in 1941 by "escaping" it, as they were essentially kicked out, FORCED INTO EXILE by the Communists, as were other royal families in Europe. Prior to this, as you know, King Alexander was assassinated, and Prince Paul was appointed regent for the 11 year old, King Peter II. Paul tried to restore elements of democracy to Yugoslavia that King Alexander had removed. He was later pressured into signing a compact with Hitler that put Yugoslavia in the Axis powers sphere, so in this sense, HE betrayed his people, yet he was never tried for war crimes by the Allies, and he was later rehabilitated by the government at Belgrade. Even British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain signed an agreement with Hitler and Mussolini, allowing Hitler to take parts of Czechoslovakia, with the promise that Germany wouldn't attack Great Britain. Easy for us to look back and criticize, but we might have acted the same way then if faced with the same dilemmas 2. The present heir to the throne, Crown Prince Alexander, didn't "betray his country" because wasn't even born then. 3. The Serbian royal family moved from London back to royal palace in Belgrade in 2001, SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO. You didn't know that, yet you claim to be knowledgable about Serbians?

@susansmith67373 жыл бұрын
@@lordofthephoenix1609 I am certainly not saying that! The leaders of today's Serbia were born in and brought up during Tito's totalitarian reign. Unlike your ancestors - my family were from BG which was known as the centre of Serb activity before WW2. After the war my father was forced to leave his homeland as he was in the King's Army. My grandfather's had factories, real estate and land confiscated by the communist government. Reputable and rich households, industrialists and intellectuals (in fact anyone who was a threat to the communist regime) were killed. Tito's regime resulted in the death of 500,000 people (mostly Serbs) as critics and ideological opponents were liquidated. Those who were left were fed lies which they believed, history was rewritten and the "wonderful standards of living" were funded by foreign bank loans organised by Tito to pay for his lavish lifestyle (for which todays Serbia is still paying - I believe over 80 million euros was repaid only last year).So the Royals may not speak perfect Serbian but they are in their rightful place. What I don't understand is why young Serbs don't insist that Tito's body be removed from BG and returned back to where it came from.......wherever that is ???????

The only way that Serbia will ever take back its Christian Orthodox holy land of Kosovo and Metohija is with the valid claim of their King and Kingdom. It would be reinstated as a constitutional monarchy much like The United Kingdom. Unfortunately the Serbian people have been through hell and simply have an aversion to any deviation from the status quo.
