We survived 2015’s valley fire in Northern California. Our neighborhood survived but all around us was devastated. We were an island in a sea of destruction. Over the last year water reserves and budget cuts were made by the mayor and Newsom for fighting fires 3. Insurance companies pulled 70% of all home owner coverage for fire damage 3 months prior to the fires. 4. Developers are currently looking at acquiring all the properties in Paliside that burnt down for pennies on the dollar. Let's not forget how this also happened in Hawaii.... Ask yourself, was this intentional to clear land quickly and cheaply acquire property for highrise apartment development, which Newsome and the Mayor would make millions and millions from? Hmmm.... makes you wonder

We welcome everyone to come to Bakersfield only 1 hour and 45 minutes from Altadena, $300.000 will buy you a nice home, Only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Hollywood BLVD and we have no danger of floods, tsunamis, fires, earthquakes, congested traffic, high winds, high gasoline prices, we have 2 Costco's, 6 super Wal-Mart's, 10 new car dealers, 2 bedroom apartment rentals are average $1.300 a month, and hot days are only 2 months out of the year, and that is just to mention a few positive reasons to live here. I moved here from Santa Monica 30 years ago and I will not go back. Bakersfield is a NO STRESS CITY. And for those that prefer mansions, we also have a one million dollar homes, that are nicer than LA area 5 million dollar homes.

Newsom should demand the resignation of Karen Bass. He is getting a bad rap. Fact is he increased the state's fire budget by more than double since taking office. In recent years it is true than he had to cut back some of that, but it was only a minor percentage of the overall state budget. And Newsom was correct when he said that the lack of water at the fire hydrants was a local problem. Karen Bass received a letter from the LA Fire Commission early in 2024 detailing how increased funding was necessary to fight wildfires, and still she cut their budget. Bad leadership and management.
