To be fair when you look at the sun you feel the burn and have incentive to look away. During a solar eclipse the intensity is reduced but the damage is still being done. I only realized this after a bit of research. So the fact that they trivialize it by calling them "cool glasses" is putting people in danger.

Its important to know WHAT substance they want to mine. Even 3 miles away, tailings & airborne waste could be just as harmful as the extensive groundwater extraction. I'm not confident that the way we monitor mining operations has kept pace with modern environmental standards. If jobs are at stake, there might a temptation to turn a blind eye if something slips.

Just a few years ago, people flew for a vacation or to visit relatives; now they fly for a weekend getaway or to see a concert. They have disposable income and don't bother to save money. Credit card debt is sky high and nobody wants to open a savings account for 0.1% interest.

According to the Chief of Police, his Officers should be applauded for quickly stepping in to deescalate the situation. Situation, customer shot and killed a Security Officer. 2 Police stepped in to deescalate resulting in 6 innocent bystanders and 1 Police Officer being Shot. Thank Goodness there were not 3 or more Officers present to assist in that De-escalation!

Licensed Security Guard here. Ima tell you right now, nobody wants to be a security guard. We’re just doing it to keep the bills paid. Security isn’t taken lightly at bars and clubs so if you can’t handle it, don’t go out. Same if you have a job that has stationed guards at post. Hmm. 99.998% of firearms each year are not used to commit murder. Your statement is demonstrably false. It would be more accurate to ask when people will grasp the connection that when criminals are coddled and gangs not addressed, lots of people get shot. According to the LAPD, 80% of murders using firearms are gang related. In short, don't get your info from MSM, Every Town or the Brady Group.
