It was touching to see the policeman weeping on camera while coping with the tragic loss of a fellow officer. All men have the capacity for deep feelings. However many men in our culture are no longer in touch with such emotions, instead playing out the common stiff-upper-lip approach to dealing with tenderness, despair, pain and sadness. Such feelings can be suppressed to the point that they are forever dissociated. Some women follow a similar path, as well, although not as often or to the same extent.
