I never heard of flail chest till now. Survivability isn't good if you got it. It's basically a part of the rib cage breaks away bilaterally. It also can be unilaterally. If you make it to the hospital alive it's 5 to 10% Mortality. It can take a long time to recover. It's one of the most severe and highest mortality injuries you can receive with considerable mortality rate.

The guy supposed to keep his neck straight basically broke the neck. And those ropes they put on the shelf to hold it back. as forky with ten years exe I can say move the damn tine pull the pin on the top and the tine will just drop off they are designed like that for this reason or just use your other forklift to lift it you must have more than one fork ?
@VonSketcher4 жыл бұрын
I thought forklifts have a bolt that would allow you to remove or adjust the forks? unless it's one of those with a fixed positioned forks. (speaking as a forklift driver who had been pranked by having his forklift's forks swapped with a 30 cm length forks...)
@RobRikerTechChannel4 жыл бұрын
They do, so you can widen or narrow how wide the forks actually are. There are so many things wrong with this scene I laugh at it. Plus it's an extra long fork with standard 4 ft deep racks, so it doesn't make sense why they have really long forks, other than for the drama.
@RobRikerTechChannel4 жыл бұрын
I know it's a TV show and all but the scene itself has so many fails. My wife told me to shut up after I started calling stuff out in it, so take the comment as that, observation. I drove a forklift in a warehouse/distribution center for years. I've seen a lot of accidents, been in a couple myself. I have seen forklifts tip over like this, there is a solid steel cage the operator sits inside of, the OSHA certified operator will be taught to hold on to the steering wheel and plant their feet, and keep arms and legs inside of the cage and ride the fall. It's the greatest likelihood to not get injured. The fork on the lift is 6 plus feet long in a warehouse with standard 4 foot deep racking. Other than adding to the drama, I didn't see anything in the shots that would push the need for extra long forks. A standard 3 and half foot long fork weighs in around 150 lbs. Longer forks weigh up to 250 lbs. The forks usually have a pin located at the top of the fork that connects to the mast, known as the corral that acts as a backstop for a pallet. That pin can get pulled and move the fork, based on what I could see, the fork could have been moved since there wasn't a load on it. I saw several people "attempt" to pick up the lift or reduce the weight on the person under the fork. That lift weighs 10,000 lbs., you are not going to lift it. I have never seen someone get pinned under a lift like that, but my first reaction would to have grabbed other lifts and attempted to lift the forklift off of the person. A couple forklifts may be needed, in fact, when a lift did tip over while being worked on, tires getting replaced, we did just that, 2 lifts were used to upright the forklift. When Cruz ran up and shouldered the rack, say goodbye to your upper back, neck and head. Cruz in real life would have been decapitated when that rack came down. I counted 4 tiers with a load in it. We're talking 10,000 lbs. estimated based on pallet type, number of pallets and known weight of racking. That rack looked like an 8 bays wide by 4 tiers, so 32 pallets of freight stored in that racking. I worked in warehouses where the average pallet weighed 1,500 lbs. So doing some basic math, that's well over 50,000 lbs, not including the rack weight. I have installed and removed racking, it requires forklifts to life and place. I wouldn't attempt to squat hold a rack, it wouldn't work.
