America Ferrera and Ben Feldman star in the hilarious workplace comedy "Superstore," about a unique family of employees at a supersized megastore. "Superstore" centers around Amy (Ferrera), who recently was promoted to be the store manager and is the glue holding the place together, and Jonah (Feldman), a dreamer determined to prove work doesn't have to be boring. Their fellow associates include the sardonic Garrett (Colton Dunn), the sweet and clueless Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom), and the perpetually dismissed Sandra (Kaliko Kauahi). I bought a firearm at the Walmart once and the manager was saying how much she hates guns and that Walmart shouldn’t sell them. All while walking me out the door with my rifle. She even forgot to take of the trigger lock. This was in a rural town near an army base.

They have to have a licensed FFA managing the counter. They can't just stick a body du jour in that job. If you don't have your fed background check already in place as a buyer...you can't buy and take home a Wal-Mart or Bass Pro Shop gun that day.

@@STho205 maybe I am misunderstanding what your saying, but in my state you pick the rifle you want. Do a background check with the associate at the counter (takes less than 15 minutes). Then pay for the rifle. Next have the store manager walk you out of the store to the parking lot with your rifle in box. I have never had to wait more than 45 min from say I will take it to in my car ( unless it was an NFA item)

Background checks can be run quickly (in some states) if ALL your documents are in order for a never bought a firearm recently customer that doesn't have the preclearance. Many states have a 3 day requirement. The manager that walks you out doesn't have to be a gun clerk or FFA. So when you were cleared in "15 minutes" was this your first ever purchase, and in what state?

I bought my gun in 2021 at Academy, a sports equipment and camping store. It took about 20 minutes. It usually takes longer cause they have to do a background check and register your gun under your name. But i have a gun license, so it was quick. They don't sell guns at grocery stores in America. So no, in real life, superstore couldn't sell guns. You can't go to Walmart or Target and buy a gun, they don't sell them. You have to go to a gun store or a verified gun seller (like Academy)

If they had a scene in a car dealership you would need writers who know something about cars to properly write the scene. This is the problem with the gun related scenes here. The writers don't know as much as they think, and whoever is in charge of the props (gun price tags), and the Director needs to know the revolver was tagged as a 9mm and it is not, the gun the employee chose as a 9mm is a .22 caliber gun, and nobody asks for a box of 9mm ammo without specifying what type they want, i.e. Speer Gold Dot hollow points, Federal American full metal jacket, etc.

"What do I need a gun for?" If you ask that question than you probably don't need one. Fortunately, the Second Amendment protects your right to purchase and own a firearm as a law abiding, tax paying, legal citizen of the US if and when you decide to exercise that right. Sadly, some states make it harder than others by enacting Draconian type gun laws under the guise of public safety that border on completely violating that right. These same states are also soft on crime yet hamper the citizenry from lawfully being allowed to protect themselves. I'm damn glad I don't live in a state that openly violates my Constitutional rights.

I think this show is intended for a type of audience that is super anti gun. I’m not saying that’s its soul purpose. We have something similar to that at Walmart. If we believe someone to be of possible danger to themselves or others, under the influence, etc we have the right to deny the transaction and that's final. If the customer has a problem with it then it furthers our point that we shouldn't give them a gun. It might be different in other places, I honestly don't know a lot of stores that sell guns other than an actual gun store so idk how their policies of such matters work

@@theredhood7879 100% right policy In general, gun stores are run by people who respect weapons and don't want them used for evil purposes. All of my peers (I am a licensed FFL) have this same policy. We will even call around and let others know if we see someone questionable trying to purchase since they will often change tactics or information to try to fly under the radar.

Also their documents must match reality....DL must have the actual address...not the apartment I moved from last year. Medical (meaning mental health) check is pretty bogus because nut cases are often not reported by doctors or relatives to avoid putting a "stigma" on their baby's record. Doctors often hide it in HIPPA and patient confidentiality. As well parents that know their kid is nuts, often get them no help at all.

Okay, I'm three minutes in. Do the writers seriously believe this is how gun sales work at a licensed dealer? That you just walk up to the counter and say, "I want that!" and they hand it over? Good gravy, no WONDER there are so many people in this country screaming to pass laws that have already existed their whole lives! ATF Form 4473 is a thing. You have to fill it out and they run a background check to make sure you're not a criminal or insane before the dealer can complete the purchase.
