The first Channel 4 opening was v'o'ed by Alan Bleviss. He is a Canadian actor who has done lots of voiceover work in the U.S., notably ads for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. In those openings lots of talent on Four has retired or perished-Jim Vance, Bob Ryan, George Michael,Barbara Harrison,Susan Kidd,Joel A. Spivak,Tom Kierein,Scott Clark,Lea Thompson,Valerie Voss, Mike Hambrick,Dave Marash and Jackie Brockington.

I remember when Doreen Gentzler was with WKYC TV Cleveland I was at a bar/restaurant near the station on E. 6th Street and I ran into Doreen there and had the pleasure of giving her a light for her cigarette!

Where is Fred Thomas. Channel 4 revealed Friday that 12-year veteran Fred Thomas will be leaving the station June 1987. Thomas, who began his career with NBC in 1961 as a page, has served as anchor and reporter during his career at WRC. He has also worked at Channel 7 here and at NBC-owned WMAQ in Chicago.
