So just wanted to reach out and say thank you Nick and Adam, you guys have inspired me to say goodbye to the corporate office world and go back to electrical work. it’s going to be hard starting from scratch and a fair bit has changed in the last ten years but i’m only 38 and if I don’t do this now i’ll never leave and just get too comfortable. There are pros and cons of working for yourself obviously but whenever I come home from a day doing work as an electrician, I feel good. It’s as simple as that. I’ve got me 2391-52, 18th, C&G levels 1,2 and 3 all sat gathering dust. Will have to re learn a lot of what i’ve forgotten but genuinely, not only are your videos entertaining but they’re informative too and have legitimately inspired me to go back doing what I enjoy. Keep up the good work boys - muchos love 👍🏼👏🏼

Good luck mate, I’m wanting to go it alone at 36 although I’m still in the game but more industrial. Did my apprenticeship in domestic and do love these videos. Sick of working for someone else tbh

@@andrewdobson3518 for me I wouldn’t mind working with other sparks, could help and. advise each other and bring in work together and when I couldn’t do something the other one could etc. That sort of working with someone else is different to working for someone else, but i’m the same, working for someone else doesn’t suit everyone. Ideally I find a group or sparkies that wouldn’t mind one more in their group around the sheffield area and I could get a bit of work that way and do me own on the side until i’m confident and ready enough to crack on solo,m. So if anyone’s knocking about in the Sheffield area and wouldn’t mind a plus 1, let me know 🤣👍🏼

Nick you should be super proud of yourself, because of you Adam has turned out to be a skilled electrician and I'm sure he will be a good teacher. A lot of it was giving Adam a go at things very early on I especially remember his first consumer unit and that way of working really speeded up to where he is today. Having said that Adam has always been very eager to learn. All the best to both of you for the future.

Your wouldn't survive on a apprenticeship's wage mate especially if your a mature student... a mate of mine wants to get into the game too, but again.. he will have to go down the trade skills route, as apprenticeships are aimed at kids.

I'm sure they really appreciate all you have done for them. I bet having two young lads around makes you feel OLD! LOL 😆. Or is it Three sons and a daughter? I've been a Subscriber for a long time. Ive always had a interest in electrics and you are the go to channel for electrics. A big well done to all of you. I look forward to watching your teams progress. Take care all 🙂.

I've made this comment to you several times over the years, Nick, but its worth saying again: you are an amazing teacher to Adam and I only wish the teachers I train, and even some of my teacher-trainer colleagues, were half as good as you. If Adam teaches Ben anything like as well (and he will, because he'll remember how you did it with him) then Ben will also be a very lucky apprentice. Well done!

Welcome, Dave, Dan, Ben.. yep that one! Adam's progression has been great on this channel, you've got some shoes to fill Ben - remember to be 5mins later than when the old grumpy tells you, he likes to complain to camera anyway, and assert dominance over your favourite biscuit/snack else you'll never survive.

I'm sure I've said before, and it doesn't feel that long ago, I can remember when Adam first started appearing on the channel, he looked so uncomfortable being on camera, but when he was asked to explain his own jobs, he was a bit nervous at first, but just got on with it. I know you said you don't want to shove the camera in Ben's face, but sometimes being chucked in the deep end seems to work. sorry to jump on other channels, but Artisan's Luke and Reuben, and CJR and James is also a bit more talkative. I think I need some of this at times.

What is the best thing for a 16/17 year old to do? Level 2 Electrical installations at college for a year (with a day a week with an electrician) and then afterwards an apprenticeship or straight into an apprenticeship after GCSES. 16/17 seems so young Also are there differences in apprenticeships? Good companies bad companies???
