i was the junior drum major from 1976 to 1979. i was there when "get off" came out. i remember the director fussing at the band when there was a part in the song when we were supposed to pair up and dance the freak. they were embarrassed, so he told them to act like they were at the club. it was very different then.

my 1st thought was "maybe he just stupid" , but it is more likely you've Lost your soul, or maybe u were raised without it from the beginning , this a BLACK Institute from the family of HBCU s, I take offens. e and u are disrespectful FAMU RATTLER

Incorporating the two kids is cute . . . for now. Just don't get carried away with it and add more children. It messes up the precision and look of the drumline. Just my opinion.
@ericford44905 жыл бұрын
First off A&T has always had honorary kids members on its drumline since I was a student there way back in the early 90s. And I think they participate during home games and doesn't travel with the band. I don't see anything wrong with the concept I think it wonderful and a beautiful thing I wish alot other HBCUs or colleges did something like this a well. It's allowing him to learn the concepts of being apart of a marching band and what it takes the time, the practice, the dedication, and hard work at such a early age on what it means profecting your craft. And the time they spend and the many positive influences that young man is receiving is not only memorable but priceless. There are so many negative influences this kids can be getting living in a innercity environment. And its obvious this kid is treated as one of their own. You can the pride and honor in his walk he wants to be there. And if they keep adding more kids I say kudos for A&T the more kids they can save from the dangers of the streets getting them the better. I feel it's a HBCUs duty that they interact within the communities they are based 97% of all HBCUs campuses are in the hood. So you tell me, cause you sound selfish to me to worry how this would look to your drumline as suppose to why these kids are there in the first place. I believe mentoring is so important in today's society and you shouldn't have to wait til you a young adult to start mentoring our young as early as possible.

Steel has too much going on in this cadence. Expecially the quints, they play with no dynamics at all.

There isn't a huge amount of "diversity" in this band and the dancers.
@ROCKSTARGANGSTA127 жыл бұрын
By diversity are speaking in terms of race, because NC A&T is an HBCU which stands for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, or in terms of material?

Kevin Malcolm well they ain't a lot of diversity in white marching bands also!!!!

Kevin Malcolm We don't need y'all. We are Africans. You can never be us. We don't need or want y'all. It all about Blackness. We are the arch type. You will only water down. Can you imagine an albino male dancing like these brothers?
