I loved how UNCC’s band members were dancing along with A&T. Respect ✊

As a band member from the 70’s , and I attended this show in 2014, Bk in the day if a band came out on the field during a show during a performance that probably meant trouble,, so that confused us old heads for a sec. , I’d never seen a joint band half time show, most of our competition was trying to give the best show they could and not blend, and to those that don’t understand the competitiveness , we’ll you wouldn’t try to blend the two football teams would you,, well the band is the same to us,, way to much time put into practice for that,,, probably someone’s machination to save face.

A&T definitely has the most versatile and talented group of young ladies of any band that I've seen performing. They dance, twirl batons, spin flags and I've even seen them doing somersaults in certain shows. Damn!!! Personally, I wish they would not participate when the band is dancing during the show though. I think it diminishes the mystique and elegance of the group when they do that. That, along with the overkill of having too many drum majors (they currently have 5) are the only two things I would change about this band. All in all, they are phenomenal!!

But excuse me , It’s an HBCU marching band FIRST , so make sure we understand the history of what this is ,, for me,, this ain’t that sad reality band show maybe wannabe stuff that we see with No Talent folk on youtube or tv. crap FAMU marched with 5 Tall Drum Majors when Dr. Foster was band director in my day (1970,s) and they practiced /prayed , rehearsed and performed great, the Rattle ,, A&T visited them in their band room (circa 1979) and they played The Lords Prayer just to warm up on and it brought tears to the eyes if you were conscious ,, 60 minutes did a expose on them that year in the late 70s I think, , and I’m a Ncatsu Aggie,, but the stuff we whine about these days on All levels will hurt us and is , and maybe u r right ,, 5 drum majors are not needed, but when ours worked as a team it worked great, plus the head DM (Drum Major) didn’t have to holler at everybody, he would send so an so to do that,. shucks we played Grambling U. bk in 1976 in the Pontiac Silver Dome , dm wind supported roof almost blew us out that sucker coming into the arena and Grambling U. Doug Williams was QB, Gramblings band members told us, they would probably be too distracted with women on the field, and asked , how we handled that, 🧐😅, so we always had Beautiful womenI didn’t realize they didn’t have women in the band, cause we never saw them except on a lil bit somewhere,, so , I wish we wouldn’t complain about stuff b 4 we chk our travels to get here,, and stop complaining over the little stuff, it’s not a good look, ⚖️🎷✌🏿

"Class of "78" Go Aggies ! I love my school and our awesome band! I sort of wish that the announcer would not talk during the performance. Maybe because I am older, and can't multitask very well, it makes it harder for me to enjoy the music because I am trying to listen to him. It would be far better for him to talk between the songs. Other than that, he does a great job!
@rodtrues13 жыл бұрын
Dude , no disrespect but, all marching bands going back to when before and after I (1976) was in HBCU band had a hype man ( announcer ) on the PA system, and when u are sitting there live ,he blends in, but when someone records on their device , that mic 🎤 is going to pickup that PA system power better than the band, depending on mic placement , and I agree, maybe some bands need to tell their announcer to not over hype it, but blend it, but how do you tell a passionate person to not hype your endeavor? Shucks I’m glad we can see All HBCU bands these days and they have a platform, , come on family.,

RichbergEnt but I also want a good lively marching band, and A&T looks like it, My school had made it to the nationals that took place in A&T's stadium also, it was a highschool competition tho and A&T played at the end and they sounded amazing
@RichbergEnt6 жыл бұрын
Tatara RR ook, which school do you attend that was in the nationals? If you are referring to the one in High Point NC, then that wasnt A&T's stadium...but the A&T campus isnt far from there. Maybe 20mins. If your career goal is to be an Architect...A&T will be a great fit for you. Its a top Engineering school world wide. Im positive you will get what you need out of the school. And of course the band is lively..check out past and future videos of them here on my channel. Be sure to subscribe to my channel as well for future post. Also subscribe to the BGMM official channel for their videos also. If you have a specific question...id be happy to help you find an answer.
