Very nice Zent! Also, make sure to upgrade or replace your cooling reservoir! The original factory one in my NC1 looked like yours and it unexpectadly cracked and ruined my engine. If you look online it seem to be a common issue with the NC1's.

Seems like since the template is symmetrical, if you flipped it over, you could have just under pulled the backing cover off the sticky side. I guess I'll know when I try it.

I think it has to do with the hood contour. You could definitely do it that way if you wanted to try it

So you can just cut through the underneath of the hood? I thought most people removed them but I don’t know. I’m still learning myself

Yes it is ok to cut through the bottom on this hood to maintain the rest of the bracing. They have instructions on their site.
