NC State has now won 7 of the last 10, 10 of the last 15, and 16 of the last 25 in this series. Unc-CHeat loves to crow about their lead in the all-time series, but this results from their massive advantage in the pre WW2 leather helmet days. Since the ACC was founded in 1953, the series record is basically even with a slight 37-35 advantage to unc.

It appeared that the Pack would lose 30 to 29 for the 2nd week in a row (what are the odds of THAT??). UNC scoring quickly from the 50 yard line was "fortuitous", shall we say, in that it left the Pack nearly 2 minutes to overcome a 1-point deficit. If Hampton would have gone down intentionally at the 5 or 10 yard line, I think we would have lost. Congrats to Coach D for another great win and to the Pack for winning 13 of the last 18 against the Heels. NC State would be wise to focus their "rivalry" efforts on Wake Forest and Duke going forward. UNC needs to win two or three in a row for this series to be considered a rivalry again. Doeren's postgame presser comments about how he is not allowed to wear blue at any time were pretty funny.

Mack Brown is a classy coach, period. I hate to see him go for that reason alone, but I understand he didn't deliver the results for UNC to maintain him. As far as the game is concerned, I would encourage anyone to go over to the SCHOETT & VIPP podcast and listen to their masterful breakdown of Mack's era and game scenarios. Wow, what a game !!! If you know anything about the NCSU & UNC rivalry football game then you already know that you will see nothing but each team's maximum effort on both sides of the ball and players making hustle plays all over the field. And more times in this series than none the outcome wouldn't be decided til much later in the game than blowouts. And this rendition of this fall classic didn't disappoint. Both teams played their asses off with the occasional roughhousing,. Boys will be boys😂

The only reasson Doeren still has a job as head coach is because his teams can beat the Tarheels. If you only win one game per season and it's not against UNC, you'll be fired from the NC State head coach position. Neither of these teams deserve to go to a bowl game but both will be invited. It's so funny to watch NC state fans get excited about one game when they can't beat Clemson on a consistent basis. Dave Doreen will never take NC state to a great bowl or an ACC Championship but they beat the only team they can on a consistent basis. The only game that keeps Doreen at state is he can beat Carolina but can't beat the teams they should.
